  • Biography
Twins fan since age 10 in 1971. loved Vikes and then Twins by assimilation. Weird fact. I was born in New Britain Conn. became a Twins fans as I grew up in the Adirondack mountains of NY and moved to Rochester after college. So I have connections to 2 of the Twins minor league cities. now if I can only find time to get to Target field to see a game...

Since71's Achievements

  1. Seeing Morales on the bench surrounded by 5 young Hispanic kids just drives home the idea that the Twins need to add a Hispanic coach...or two.
  2. I would prefer they stay in New Britain but only because I was born there (only lived there for 6 months) and I now live in Rochester NY. It just feels like good karma to me to have the top 2 minor league teams in cities I have lived in.
  3. Gardy has been down on them since Nick Punto got one and sprained a thumb sliding head first into 1st base;).
  4. whoa grab the reins Nellie lol. I hope you're right and you might be, but saying "start of a new Trevor Plouffe - one that should be a building block of the Twins in coming years." is way too premature. I do really like your analysis of what has led to his early season success, but lets not go too far just yet. # hope you are right!
  5. Harmon it has to Harmon and pepperoni and mushroom with double cheese.
  6. Well that would work fine if we could DH for him but unfortunately position players have to hit and as I said if he can hit 230/240 then his defense makes him best option but hitting <200 makes him an offensive liability. unfortunately the Twins don't have a lot of options but I watched Escobar here at Rochester last year and well he is certainly not in Florimons league on defense he held his own and is a much better hitter...so as I said give Flori a week and if no improvement send him down and give Escobar a shot and at least see what you have
  7. Sorry and I am not a Florimon hater, but good defensive ss who hover around the Mendoza line are not "a special talent". I do believe he will hit better than he has so far and if he can get to 230/240 then he is the best option but if he doesn't improve in the next week I think the Twins should send him to Rochester to regain his "stroke" and see what the have in Escobar
  8. Deduno was their best starter last year. as for track record I can agree with you on Nolasco and Correia but Hughes track record is not good. Yes Gibson has the most upside. Deduno is a starter and earned his chance to start. as for your comment that there is no excuse for pitching poorly in the bullpen... starting and relieving are apples and oranges and some guys can't do both well. I am not advocating for a change yet but if things don't improve then Deduno should be 1st option into rotation
  9. I had several chances to watch Escobar last year with the Redwings here in Rochester. I am not a talent evaluator but he made all the plays, he hit and he was a guy who added some spark to the club which the Twins desperately need....just like I have said about Colabello for the last year just give him a good consistent long look and find out who he is... oh yeah and he tossed my grandson a ball so he has a special place in my heart lol
  10. Thanks Seth. These reports have become my favorite part of TD.
  11. My bad colabello already in I must have been crying in the other room when he came in
  12. So Gardy did you know Kubel can't hit lefties and you have Colabello on the bench?... same old same old. On a positive note we are deep in DH. We have 3 starting today 1 at DH 1 at 3rd and 1 in left...big sigh
  13. Bats? "I do not think that word means what you think it means"
  14. Gardy hates him some rook(ies)
