  1. Trade Mauer and Morneau and take the prospects or whatever mediocre pitcher you can get and clear up that huge chunk of the payroll. It's nice to have a former MVP and a perennial All Star on your team but what have they done for the Twins lately?
  2. If Mauer was in the NL, he wouldn't even make the All Star Team as a bench player. Buster Posey and Yadier Molina are much better defensively and know how to hit the ball over the fence. Maybe if he played first base his power number might increase, but for now we have to just sit back and enjoy watching him hit 2-out singles up the middle to pad that batting average
  3. All 10 of those guys should be up by 2016, but after that the next 10 really won't amount to much. Throw in Kohl Stewart and you have a solid ball club though
  4. Twins: 5 Rays:3 W- Correia L- Hellickson S- Perkins
  5. The best move he could make is to trade Morneau to the Giants for Lincecum, get that big name pitcher and put him in a low pressure situation for a while so he can find his stuff again. Then in two years, you hopefully have a rotation that looks like: Lincecum Gibson Diamond Myers May/Wimmers That's good enough to make a run for the postseason
  6. Makes you miss seeing him out in Center for the Twins, he was such a fun player to watch
  7. There were quite a few Twins fans in Brookings, but not a whole lot of baseball fans in general. I liked being able to catch every Twins game on cable for the first time though, all we get in the Reds in Indiana.
  8. Even though Sano is hitting under .200, he still has a slugging % of .500, which is pretty impressive. The Twins don't care what he bats at Double-A, they won't promote him to Triple A this season no matter how well he does.
  9. I go to South Dakota State and got to watch Wolters play this year. I'm from Indiana, where basketball reigns king, and I swear that I have never seen as pure of a shooter as Nate Wolters. He is most comparable to Jimmy Chitwood in the movie Hoosiers; great scorer, confident but by no means flashy, and a pass-first mentality. That particular skill set (combined with being a 6'5 white guy from St. Cloud) doesn't exactly mark him for stardom in the NBA, but I really hope that he finds a home somewhere, he was a great player to get to watch.
