  1. This is sad. Mr. Gibson is doing an excellent job yet Shields is beating the Twins. Uggh.
  2. You were nice enough to let your wife know exactly what she was getting in to? I think that's rather thoughtful, myself.
  3. Gibson got Abreu though. Gibson as a strike out pitcher? Dogs and cats, I tell you, Dogs and cats.
  4. A guy from the land of lutefisk is complaining about fish?
  5. And, please, no pics. Remember, I lived in MN and I well remember the "first sign of shorts." I still have nightmares.
  6. Maybe a nice puce? Or, perhaps something in a pale pink?
  7. Today is day three of my Twins game thread extravaganza. Since taking on the responsibility, the Twins are 2-0. Coincidence? I hope so because no way I want to write a 162 game threads. Though, I suppose the possibility of the Twins FO offering financial remuneration might be an incentive to continue. Anyway, I was taken to task about the brevity of previous posts and I protested that "brevity is the soul of wit." Of course, the response I received was a rather tacky "and you've written something funny when?" I hate it when I get a query like that where I can just hear the tone at the end of the sentence go up in pitch. Some stuff to think about:* *not a selfie Random observations from last night: 1. Lance Lynn did pretty well. Nice to see him make the pitches when he needed to. More importantly, no walks.2. Rosario had 5 RBI's. Though, first time I've seen a player hit a double and "run" with his legs spread that far apart.3. Mauer: Walk machine.4. Umpire last night: Somewhat generous strike zone. 5. Garver looked better behind the plate. Lineups: Unfortunately, again, I won't be home in time to post lineups. Hopefully one of our mods will be kind enough to pick up the slack. However, Pitching for the Twins: Kyle Gibson. Pitching for the White Sox: James Shields
  8. No walks and I think Lynn has made the pitches when he needed to. Overall, it's encouraging, considering the train wreck we've become accustomed to.
  9. I'm really sorry, I cannot believe I didn't get to this quicker. "Yes." Hopefully, you will forgive me this minor faux pas
  10. And Lynn gets out of the inning with only 1 run scored. Amazing.
  11. And, unbelievably, it didn't matter. Who is pitching, again?
  12. Listening to Smalley talk about Rosaio not running and how he's going to get grief, I can almost hear Rosario thinking, after he tagged that ball, "No, I'm not going to have run, am I? I really really don't feel up to it. Crap." How many RBI's does Rosario have at this point? 5? I think the coaches might take it just a little easy on Eddie.
  13. Listening to Smalley talking about the shin after Rosario fouled off that ball I thought, "Yeah, no, that ball got Rosario in about the worst place a guy could get it." And the replay proved me right.

  15. How can boating, fishing and grilling not be a perfect day? A Twins win is merely icing.
