  1. I think Lamar is part of a younger generation of players who dont see agents as being focused on their best interests, right or wrong. I'm also fairly sure that "professional athlete arrogance" is also playing a part here. Regardless, its weird seeing a QB of his level in such an ambiguous situation.
  2. by that calculus, the Cubs are due for 2-3 more soon I'll take it!
  3. I've been posting there for 20 years. When Brock showed up, it was like its working out...so as long as he doesnt take our social forum away!
  4. fun fact: Donte was a Cub. this whole series is going to haunt you guys. CUBS EVERYWHERE yea, added to that the Cubs have been the Cobs of late. But any series/season can change on one pitching outing, should be fun
  5. they may beat up the Cobs (as we like to call them when they flounder), and yet the Twinkies might get rolled. Hopefully, its just close games all weekend, like 10-1, 8-3, 5-0 all Cubs wins!
  6. I dont think many Cub fans thought this team was going to be very exciting this year. Swanson being the big FA name was less than who many of us wanted, aka Turner. But Belli has been a surprise, Hoerner is steady eddy, and the starting rotation has actually been solid. Missing Steele is a blessing for the Twins, absolutely. Ultimately, this years version of the Cubs has at least been entertaining to watch; they can quickly put up a 3 or 4 spot in an inning. I think the biggest lost was watching Contreras go to the Stupid Louis Cardinals, but then again, he isnt beating the world down there either. I hope the pressure of following Yawwwwnndi gets to him and his .6xx ops stays...forever....because that's all he had. He was never a game manager, always just a bat. sukkas took the WORST cub anyway, i hope its a good series, Cheers to I-90/94 corridor!!
  7. where do they mine that pixie dust anyway? luckiest sonsabiches i've ever seen! I grew up in the nw corner of illinois. All my childhood friends were Cub fans or Cardinal fans. I'm a child of the 80's so names like Dawson, Dunston, Ozzie are all relevant still, it wasnt a bad way to grow up at all,
  8. trust me if we could, the first thing we'd do is contract the cardinals or send the franchise to exile in winnepeg
  9. I've been a member of northsidebaseball since 2003. trust me, you dont know cesspool game threads until you hang out with a bunch of suffering Cub fans i'll be fine ;)
  10. anyway, I know live in the Seattle area and see more Mariner games, have for the last 14 years. I grad'd with a Masters in Architecture from the U. Still love the TC area. But I grew up in Illinois, and right up until I was accepted at the U, i was an Illini fan. not so much anymore thank you all for not beating me up too bad!
  11. smart woman!
  12. see, I preferred old Comisky. new Com is monstrosity, I think Target Field is 10,000s better in that division. but, growing up a cubs fan, my first mlb game was at Wrigley and I still love it. I just hate the ownership mainly, and I dont care if its hard to get to because it sells out anyway - if the team is good. besides 2016 was an unbelievable year to see a game there, I've never felt that old stadium buzz like that leading up to Oct.
  13. correction, poor tastes in ownership...Wrigley's fine..better than a recycled busch light can that the cards play in yuk lol
  14. you should try that. there are some there who would agree but only because we're tired of Ricketts. now the cardinal fan above....wellllllll......
  15. all true! but you know what, it worked! hahaha ski u mah!
  16. new to the board, and admiringly only came to bother Brock about why the Cubs board went down, but I think I'll be around here a bit more. I am a U of MN grad, both undergrad and grad, and I love the fact you guys have a Gophers FB thread. I'll be checking in! minny (as the call me at nsbb-the cubs board)
