    Well...he will not be around that much longer and he was not the one that made the call...and his stats were high the first half. You could probably point out a few others on the team as I mentioned who stink. For example, why call up Martin...he has not been that beneficial.. look at his hitting..why not ERod or another young talent. Martin realistically will not be a full time player in 2027 and is not great. I also cannot understand why they kept playing Buxton....he was noticeably limping when I saw him in SD. They kept playing him. FO has made bad decisions but my faith in Shelty is fading.

    Due a bit of research on Buxton and an athlete with a hip injury. The likelihood of reinjurying exists. The loss of speed is certain. The best choice is for the team is to DH him or play in the corner outfield spots. A hip injury to an athlete can make them overcompensate one side over the other. Basically, they need to make some team player adjustments.

    There seems to be a good deal of happiness about Larnach being replaced by Martin. It is due time to have him sit....but.one person commented in another post area how horrible he has been all season and is the worst player on the team. Well, you need to compare his hitting and OPS to Caratini and Lewis....yes, he has been horrible lately. .but you can also compare his stats this season to Martin.

    The one bad thing about the old Detroit stadium was the beams that obstructed viewing. For some seats......I had to laugh about the people mover which transported people amoung empty buildings downtown...lived in the Houston area in the early 80s...cost $1.00 for an outfield seat...Ryan. JR. Richard (not sure many will recall him)

    Interesting item for the old folks who remember the As from their heyday years (only 1 other team has won 3 or more consecutive WS). Blue Moon Odom will be placed in their hall of fame today....he is still alive. His career stats were not great but he had some great series and playoff appearances. Also had quite a rough history...had lockerroom fights with Vida Blue and later Rollie Fingers. He was shot trying to stop a robbery during his playing days and later had a police standoff with a shotgun. Regardless...reminded me of that team with so many stars and a dynasty...led by the goofy owner Charlie Finley.

    I am exhausted with some people thinking that Buxton will be hit with a magic wand and suddenly complete a healthy season and actually be productive for the team. This hip surgery issue alone could sideline him for six months or more.
