I am a Buxton fan, but I seriously can't recall a Twin that has went been on the IL as much as he has over the years in addition to the manager resting him. He must be closing in on a record. I wish him a speedy recovery.
The reliever rotation is going to get a workout over the upcoming days due to this constant Roccoball (hey, I just coined a great word:) The team will not have a day off until the 18th. I have to get over it...but I still miss Varland. It may be time to raise the Taj Mahal from the Saints soon.
Clemens is probably the best bet...he is in the outfield...i do not disagree. But who is left? Julien at first is not the answer, he has less of a glove...France had his quirks, but he was decent at 1st.
I am really cheering for McCusker today. He was called up in May for 6 AB's. At 6'8" and 250 IBs ..he is a presence. He was a 26th round for the Brewers in 2017 out of a Folsom State College. One thing connected to this new wave for the Twins that I like is to watch somebody like Luke hit his first HR as he did the other day. McCusker can wack the ball...would be nice for him to have his first HR at the MLB level also.
I miss Varland...that one will stick with me for awhile..a fellow Minnesotan born/bred in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.. should get a bit more respect..especially when there was no rationale for it..
Just get to at least 500, win some series (Such as the Yankees at home), get Lopez going, don't dump Ryan and Lopez next year, ...and I will be satisfied...
