  1. The Twins and Marlins are clearly jockeying for draft position tonight
  2. Good. They should have been booing two weeks ago and should continue for the next two weeks. Yes, even after the season is done.
  3. Yeah I don't know why they aren't PH him. He's due, just like me in black after being down $2k
  4. No they are not. I'm a Twins fan living in Baltimore, so the O's are my side piece.
  5. Yeah, even if the O's are resting guys, the Twins still would lose a pivotal game to them.
  6. Yeah - "losing money" to them is making less than the max.
  7. I agree - the new owners could look at what the Vikings and now Timberwolves are doing in a smaller market. Very loyal fanbase (until you reach the breaking point). People have been clamoring for the Twins to spend money since the beginning of time, which is evidence people will be very committed to spending money on games, merch, tuning into games, etc. which would be a boon for a new ownership group.
  8. I disagree - billionaires only care about money. If they are losing their ass in a business venture they very well may divest and use the money elsewhere.
  9. Doesn't mean this would end the same way. Plus at this point, I'll take my chances.
  10. What a sad ending to an equally sad year. It is actually sort of poetic how things are ending... I wish people would stop going to games next year so that the Pohald's would feel it where it hurts them the most. They would likely cut payroll again if fans persisted to not attend games, which would hopefully cause more fans to revolt. The end game would be "forcing" the Pohald's to sell the team. It would be a great investment for someone with deep pockets as they'd be buying a discounted product given the lack of attendance in prior year(s) before the sale. The new owners could promise the fanbase they are committed to competing, sign a few big name players, and you have a recipe for a large return on investment. I know how unlikely this is, but one guy on an internet blog took on WallStreet, so there is a non-zero chance of this happening.
  11. I feel like people here are only dogging the Twins, and rightfully so.
  12. I hope we get booed off the field tonight.
  13. This is such a tired bit. Every Twins season fans say "well at least we have the Vikings to cheer for," and at the end of the Vikings season fans say, "Go Timberwolves." and at the end of the Timberwolves season fans say "Go Twins." Repeat every year, and every year. I don't find any humor and comfort in these sayings anymore..
  14. If the Twins don't make the playoffs it will be one of the most, if not the most, disappointing seasons (for many reasons) in recent memory. Yet nothing will change moving forward. Really makes it hard to be a fan.
  15. What actual logic does it make to continuously PH Margot?
  16. Here comes extras.. time to make a triple whiskey neat
  17. If we lose this game a player, or Rocco, needs to address the ownership / GM issue of not spending money. We can't continue with the way things are going. Someone of significance please say something to change things.
  18. Phew. We won't lose any ground after tonight's game
  19. And I wanted to marry Jessica Simpson when I was 14
