  1. Glad someone else signed him. I'd rather give mad Baum that money or go big on Cole. If they can't get an impact pitcher via FA, trade for someone. Doing nothing punts 2020.
  2. I believe gophers can compete with anyone outside the top 8. When 4 of those teams are not going to be in a NYD bowl, that leaves the next group/tier. Current projections have them playing Tennessee in the Outback... whom the gophers should crush. I'm not sure why it isn't Florida or Auburn, who would be great matchups.
  3. Hate the thought of paying an average 28 year old starting pitcher like Wheeler 100 million. Potential be damned, that is a lot of money to gamble on improvement at that age. Count me out. Find someone else that isn't gathering so much interest. Reminds me of the Kris Benson love back in the day. I'd bet he'd get a nice payday at this point in his career too, only to be remembered mostly for his hot wife now. Love that they're looking at moving Sano. A short deal for moose or Donald would be a great idea. Big question is if Cron can duplicate first half success. If I want to compete for a world series, the less questions the better.
  4. Agree with this. Brooks looked like the real deal before his injuries, and has been progressively better every game. They have a blue chip RB from Kansas committed. Morgan and Bateman are still young. Bateman might declare after next year if he has a big year. There is a good chance this team is better next year. Fleck is still young too, he'll get better at putting together gameplans and helping make adjustments. I think a mid-teens ranking is appropriate.
  5. This team obviously isn't great, but they are good. The big ten west isn't awesome this year, but Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota are pretty good. I dare LSU to come up and play a black Saturday game against the gophers. I dare any SEC team to play in the big ten in November. Wisconsin was a bad match up for bad weather conditions. Going 10-2 in as power 5 conference is good. Clemson still hasn't beat a team that could be considered good.
  6. They'll still field a team for the bowl game and in 2020. Sucks no rose bowl, but what can you do? The biggest pieces they lose is Johnson, Coughlin and Smith. This is still a talented young team. Hopefully Fleck can inject some talent into the D line and LB next year. It is clear after playing Iowa and Wisconsin how much of a difference they can make. I'm still rowing the boat. Fleck and co are tough and play with heart. I'm not bailing on them after as couple losses. This team deserves a bunch of respect for going 10-2 with a likely new years day bowl game.
  7. Pathetic effort. Offensive and defensive line are getting dominated. Linebackers are getting exposed. Probably should have taken the points instead of going for it on 4th and 5 with a bunch of time left. Defense is getting rolled.
  8. I ****ing hate their kickoff formation. Have the entire year. There is a reason why traditional formations with specific lanes exist.
  9. Conditions are making it closer than it should be. Gophers look like a much better team. A few plays haven't gone their way.
  10. Put them on the board! Great start to the game!
  11. Definitely don't want osu to lose. If gophers win out, they have the best 1 loss resume in the country, and arguably better than lsu, easily better than Clemson. No way they are left out. The stupid rankings have 3 SEC schools in the top 5, it is a joke. I'll be rooting for Alabama, Georgia, Utah to lose.
  12. https://youtu.be/b3s-usK0w9U
  13. Just a 48%? Wow, that is harsh. Gameday is set up in the mall. The next 3 days are going to be torture.
  14. Watching Oregon now... If gophers beat Wisconsin and lose to Ohio State, I really hope they play Oregon in the rose Bowl. Herbert has a big arm, but isn't accurate at all. I think gophers would beat them handily.
  15. I think they let the foot off the gas pretty early. Northwestern was averaging .4 yards per play at the end of the first half.
  16. Yawn. Another easy big ten win. Showdown with Wisconsin for the big ten west next weekend in Minneapolis should be a packed crowd. Maybe gameday will show up.
  17. Yes. They would easily have the best 1 loss resume in the country, and possibly the best outright. Have to beat Bucky first.
  18. Morgan and Bateman are sophomores. Add long as both guys are on this team, they'll be pretty good. I could see PJ pulling in a big time DE/LB too. He was able to recruit some good guys before success, I'm interested to see what he can pull in with success. No reason Minnesota shouldn't beat everyone in the big ten west in recruiting. It will take a while to beat Michigan and Ohio State, but sustained success will.
  19. Out against Northwestern probably won't be a big. Out against Wisconsin... forget about it.
  20. After watching Oklahoma and Baylor... I really think the gophers can play with anyone in the second tier of the country. They deserve the 8th ranking. Will obviously fall a bit after this loss, but should still be above 15.
  21. I think it is pretty clear gophers are the better team, just didn't play well enough to win. First 3 possessions going for TDs was tough to come back from. 4th and 4 and your senior NFL bound WR drops a pass that would be 1st and goal is hard to come back from. Is what it is. Iowa is a tough team. Big ten is a tough conference. Hopefully they can come back and beat Northwestern and Wisconsin. Then, go all in Ohio State. A rose Bowl birth would still be awesome.
  22. Gophers I a tough one. Tyler Johnson drops a pass on 4rth and 4 that could have evened the game. If they march down and score this possession I line their chances.
  23. I guess nothing happening athletically means women's teams, hockey, and wrestling don't matter. You don't really have to look far to see success in sports from Minnesota....
  24. Awesome. Great start to the off-season. I hope he has a good start to the year and is rewarded with a long term deal by the Twins. Seems like a pretty good dude that competes every night.
