  1. I fully agree. Casilla will probably get hurt again, per his norm. So do the Twins decide to sink/swim with Luke Hughes and Nishioka at that time, or work Dozier in? I like the power Hughes has, but he's yet to really put it together at the bigs. Time's running out. I wish Nishioka would just give up. Huge mistake. Play Dozier. Why wait ANOTHER year. Find out what you have now.
  2. Why do guys who are already in their mid 20s have to spend most of a year in AAA? If Dozier is ready, get him playing time. Figure it out. If he's better than Nishioka, would you rather have him helping, occasionally PH and playing in the field, and helping the big club? I sure would. The system is so void of upper talent fans have to suffer through these has-beens and never-weres at the higher levels. And they drag moving guys up year after year.
  3. If Nishioka doesn't make the team as the utility, that's fine with me. Who is the bench then? Hughes : Plays 1B/2B/3B Catcher(like they really need 3) OF ???
  4. I hope we never have to read the story, "Miguel Sano is really _____________ ____________ and is actually __________ years old."
  5. Bulger 1-2-3 inning. Lives another day.
  6. A few other notes from my friend at FM: Polanco just made a nice play at SS. That game just got over. Watching the other one now. Dustin Martin just k's bad off a lefty.
  7. Still 1-1 thru sixth. Twins went 1-2-3, Dumatrait a scoreless inning.
  8. Perkins 2 hits/walk, fanned Zobrist to end the 5th. Still 1-1.
  9. I asked my friend on the play he made an E, and said it was butchered pretty badly. But he came back with an above avg play later.
  10. Strained pinky on left hand. Day to Day.
  11. Hughes scores on infield hit by Revere, throwing error on Farnsworth. Revere stole 2nd and moves to 3rd on another throwing error.
  12. Doumit throws out a baserunner in the 4th 1-0 TB Pavano 4IP 3H/R/BB/3K
  13. 1-0 Rays. RBI single by Jennings, Revere can't throw the runner out, throw cut off and relayed. Doumit can't throw out Jennings on a pitchout, high throw.
  14. Some notes from a friend of mine watching the kids in FM today scrimmage: Watching the Twins minor leaguers play against each other. First inning. Goodrum walk and SB. Doesn't score. Kepler grounds out to end inning. Boer and Bashmore pitching. TK barking orders Grimes single. Rosario fly out. Grimes CS with Sano up. Sano playing third. Looks big. Has a nice arm. Grimes error at SS on bad hop. Rosario E at second on bad play. Boer gets K to end inning. Sano grounds hard to second on 1-2 pitch after TK yells to go up the middle. No score. Bashore looks decent. Goodrum works another walk. Rosario makes a nice play up the middle for a force out. R. Jimeniz k's to end inning Kepler with a nice line drive single to left off of lefty. Good swing. Kepler SB Rosario flys out deep into the wind in CF. Sano pops to short. Goodrum looks smooth at short on a ground ball. Saw A. Morales fly out on the field next to me.
  15. 0-0 Dozier has a triple and broken bat single. Pavano has been sharp(very sharp compared to Blackburn's 'sharp' yesterday). Revere has 2 grounders to 2nd, one for a double play.
  16. Rochester fans also complain frequently about how the star Twins, for the most part, haven't come up to rehab with them. A lot of unhappiness there. Not sure who they'd take to make them happy. The Orioles talent dried up,and the org and community started complaining, leading to BALT leaving.
  17. Add to this what I've heard about AA, and NB potentially hooking up with the Mets after this year, and it will be an interesting time in the minors.
  18. And I agree Thrylos. Mandelaro writes some real hack jobs over the Twins, and I sure wish they'd find somewhere else.
  19. I just don't think this area would support a AAA team. They would need a better facility. It's less than 90 minutes from TField, and I would be surprised if the Twins would want that, taking away from their own attendance. I would love to see them in this area, but doubt it could happen. Somewhere closer, for sure. Too bad Des Moines is so entrenched with the Cubs.
  20. Manship fans the side, Pitching has been solid today.
  21. There's one easy cut from the mass # of pitchers.
  22. Perhaps Bulger's last outing w/Twins, too.
  23. Eh, guys who excel in college ball, including playing in the college world series, really don't need to play in rook ball. But I see why Dozier did, because the Twins had all their other teams set, post draft. Which is why Levi, who didn't play last summer, really doesn't need to play rook ball. Way more polished than that. I think Dozier was too. Asked him about college ball during the caravan and he was comparing it to FM/NB level at the CWS.
  24. Vargas is suspended. Michael/Gonzales should start either in FM or in AA. Levi Michael better start in A ball. No reason not to. Dozier started in Eliz because....I'm not sure why, but he did.
  25. Too bad the Iron Pigs are 'close enough' to the Phils. What would be the ideal situation? What about stadium improvements, and putting them in St.Paul?
