I have two basic issues with the Berrios and Bard picks: I read the front office had them ranked "between #25 and #50" on their board. If they had Berrios ranked lower than #32 or Bard lower than #42, they reached and didn't stay true to their board -- did we really get the best players available, even by our own draft board?You don't take Berrios at #32 if you can get him at #42. You don't take Bard at #42 if you can get him at #63. Who really knows how the other MLB clubs ranked these guys? But based on the analysts projections, we could have gotten both using a later pick.Personally, I'll be fine with all of them if they land Brown at #63. That seems like a value-pick.

Berrios = Meh. Would like to know what the staff saw that put this kid above several generally higher-ranked prospects. Disappointing.

Marrero to the BoSox. Oh well. Still several highly-ranked arms on the board. Most of them are HS kids. Hope we're not locked in on a college arm.

Marrero was in consideration for the #1 overall pick before the current college season. He's still considered somewhere in the mid-teens from what I'm reading. It's not like the Twins have an overabundance of great middle infielders. If he's there at #32, I'd say pull the trigger.

That being said, absolutely love the Giolito pick for Washington.

Very true, but they've been drafting in the top-10 forever. Storen and Zimmerman went something like 9th and 4th overall. I realize drafting is highly risky and subjective, but there seems to be a lot less risk when you're drafting early every year.

It's pretty easy to look like a great GM when you draft #1 two years in a row and Strasburg + Harper are sitting there.

Tyler Grimes continues to struggle at low Class-A Beloit. After starting the year with an abysmal .155 BA at the time the thread was originally posted, he's pulled his average up to a Mendozian .207 in 45 games, similar to the .225 he posted in 42 games at Beloit in his rookie season. He has committed 13 errors in 40 games at SS this season, posting a .930 fielding percentage. Although he's not a huge power thread (2 HRs), almost half his hits have gone for extra bases (14 of 30).
