Its a game and a half in to the season. Relax a little.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. Other than Mauer's liner to 3rd, Morneau's double, and Willingham's dinger, the Twins haven't hit the ball hard at all.

What does our lineup look like tomorrow? Mauer at first? doumit catching? Do we give Lexi the day off and give Hughes a shot?

Maybe the Orioles pitching is much improved and we are just running into great pitching????????

That must be it.

On a different note, look at the crowd... pathetic. It's opening weekend.

You can bet on Doumit C and Mauer 1B... As for Hughes... Yeah... Why not. Give Burroughs some time at 3B as well.

In the 4th, Liriano gave up a walk, a grounder Valencia should have fielded, another grounder Valencia and Willingham should have fielded, then a jam-shot blooper. I know they count as hits in the box score, but why should Frankie have to get pulled after 4 IP just because his "defense" can't catch the ball?

3 straight hits, granted they are all singles. Now it's time for a bomb. OH Yeah, we have carroll up, maybe another single and then the bomb.

Looks like game 164 to me. I love watching this team as much as about anything outside my family life and Tiger Woods in the hunt on sunday but this is getting hard to watch.

What I saw tonight was an uninspired team playing an inspired team that had lost its last tune-up game to a college team. Seriously, the Orioles lost to a college club, and then the Os kick the Twins' butts in two games. Liriano was awesome in the first and then atrocious. It's not Gardenhire's fault, but this team needs new leadership. There is an exhaustion or asphyxiation with the Twins. They need some fresh air. They have taken this approach with the AAA manager, bringing Glenn in from outside of the organization. I hope that Gardenhire can inspire the guys to turn it around, but .... Two games, of course, are no indication of how the Twins will so. This may be wringing of hands hysterically after only two games into the season, but I think the asphyxiation is real on this team. I hope I'm wrong.

Positives:

Perkins looked pretty good.

They managed to get a couple runs out of bases loaded, no outs, 2-3-4-5 hitters due up.

Opening day tix on Stubhub can be had for as little as $19.95.

We should not forget that Baltmore started out HOT last year as well.

They swept 3 games against the Rays, won 2 of 3 against the Tigers, took 2 of 4 against the Twins, 2 of 3 against the Red Sox, and almost swept the White Sox taking 3 of 4 to start out their first month of ball.

Many teams begin the year slow. It's nothing new for the Twins to start out a little slow in the Wins column.

Yes, some mistakes being made... defensively and offensively.

It's only 2 games. At the end of the day, one team wins and one team loses. Some lose big, some lose by a little. Some win big, some squeak out a win.

It's baseball. Go Twins!
