In 2022, the Twins selected right-handed pitcher CJ Culpepper from California Baptist University in the 13th round of the draft. He made 10 starts and posted a 2.33 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP. He finished the season with 11 starts in Cedar Rapids. Overall, he worked 86 innings and had 89 strikeouts with just 32 walks. He was a key contributor in the Kernels Midwest League championship.
