  1. Now we are referencing posters on some forum? lol BTW Stewart is rated higher than Sheffield by FanGraphs
  2. Ok... hrs are not relevant statistics....Free agent HR leaders; C. Carter, and Trumbo, are barely drawing much interest in the free agent market, and Encarnacion had to settle for a short term contract.
  3. Significant risk????? Major yellow flags??????? REALLY, lol. BTW, all star participation is meaningless in valuing players. Who else would have represented the Twins in the all star game this year. At least reference some meaningful statistic when evaluating or valuing a player.
  4. Three young controllable pitchers (6 years each) for a good not great player (2 years of control)?Get ready to be disappointed.
  5. Sorry to break it to you but every team does this. Its just part of the dance.
  6. Maybe because the Angels has a really bad farm system.
  7. This philosophy has been working for them lately. The Dodgers continue to place themselves in winning situations, and with their prospect ready to play a bigger role their winning ways should continue. If not traded, JDL and Stewart should play bigger roles this year too.
  8. This is not an average lineup by any measure. The Dodgers also led the league in players in the DL last year. If they can sustain a successful season with so many injuries I think they will be alright this year. Also, last year everyone wrote the Dodger off and gave the division to the Giants or the DBax when the Dodgers lost Greinke and the Giants sign Cueto and others.
  9. That's a good plan since you won't have much to cheer for during the baseball season.
  10. I'm sorry it came across a little aggressive didn't mean it that way. I just simply wanted to know what background did he have in making such inference.
  11. Zach Lee is no longer a Dodger.
  12. Based on what do you infer that Alvarez ends up as a reliever. Have you personally even seen the guy pitch, or might you be a scout, talent evaluator, etc?
  13. I'm not valuing Dozier to the reported return, lol. Boy, some homers really get their feelings hurt rather easily, lol. I was referring to the value of Dozier to the Dodgers winning during the season. Everyone knows how much of a crap shoot the playoffs are, so its even harder to predict how much Dozier to the Dodgers winning it all might be worth.
  14. Apparently Yo-Yo Ma is also concern about the haul that the Twins might be getting, lol.
  15. There's this too: YOYOma: do you see the twins getting a better overall prospect than de leon in any trade scenario involving dozier? Eric A Longenhagen: Probably not. They could get De Leon + but probably not a guy I have ranked ahead of De Leon. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/top-21-prospects-los-angeles-dodgers/
  16. That will definitely go against what the Dodgers have been saying for several years now about developing from within, especially pitchers. The president of the Dodgers has adamantly preached that he is hesitant to give pitchers long contract because "pitchers break," thus, he has said repeatedly the Dodger will remain competitive with a surplus of pitchers instead. I'm 100% sure that JDL, Alvarez, and Stewart will not be the framework of the deal if the Twins and the Dodgers ever come to agreement. IMO Dozier is not worth that deal. The Dodgers will be fine without him and they should just keep their three pitchers and fix their weaknesses during the trading deadline instead.
  17. We better get A LOT more that just Dozier for four prospects. I'm sorry but Dozier is not that valuable to the Dodgers.
  18. I was actually referring to your comparison of Rodgers (one of the best, if not the best QB in the league) to Dozier (a really good player but not even a top player at his position).
  19. First, wrong sport for comparison. Second, are you really comparing Rodgers with Dozier?
  20. Value is all relative. Dozier's value to the Twins means nothing. They will lose with him or without him. Under those circumstances, I saw roll the dice and get what you can for him while his "value" is high or hope he can repeat his second half, and also hope the market to trade him grows (Too many "if" for me). Also, depending on who you ask Dozier's value to the Dodgers may be lower or higher. However, for whatever is worth, the numbers suggest the Dodgers are going to be really good without him. If the Twins aren't willing to except the Dodger's offer go into the season and make a trade before the trading deadline.
  21. If the Twins "have been operating on a holiday schedule," why would they asked teams to submit their best offers in the middle of the holiday?
  22. "Take it right away," Its been a month. Teams usually don't haggle over a "third piece" for a month.
  23. Alvarez is rated higher than JDL by many. Lux is a first rounder that has not had enough playing time to show what the Dodgers have in their hands. Same goes for Ruiz. The Dodgers are not the DiamondBacks, they don't give up on their players too soon.
  24. Yeah, this is way too much for a Dozier: Three top pitching prospects, 1st rounder, and a high ceiling highly regarded prospect in a highly rated farm system.
  25. Yeah, there is no way Alvarez was ever included. That deal would have been done already.
