  1. As someone already mentioned Pederson is a good comp. too. Grandal is not a bad 2way player either.
  2. I have repeatedly mentioned that JDL, Stewart, and another mid-level prospect was fair, but I guess you have not been following along.
  3. With all due respect, you don't know the Dodgers.
  4. I guess we aren't the only ones who are having trouble evaluating Dozier. Here's an excerpt from Olney's top ten 2nd basemen article: The evaluators' split decisions on Dozier are fascinating and perhaps present a window into the Twins' efforts to market him. Some club officials placed him high on this last -- as high as No. 2 overall, ahead of the likes of Cano and Kinsler -- while others assigned him the No. 10 spot because they're not entirely convinced that what he did in the second half of 2016 is a sign of what's to come.
  5. Joe Flacco is definitely not elite and while were at it E. Manning is overrated too.
  6. I meant, why would the Dodgers pay a premium for a player that they technically don't need in order to be competitive. I would gladly trade top prospects if we were trading for a top player that is crucial to our success. Don't get me wrong I think that Dozier is a really good player but not enough to give up multiple top pitching prospects for. Also, the market for Dozier is nonexistent, so why would I bid against myself and give up my top pitching prospects.
  7. Maybe because the Twins and the Dodgers have let it drag out for a month now.
  8. Maybe they do feel the same way since they have not surrendered what the Twins have been asking for. Otherwise, this deal would have been made a month ago.
  9. Yes, the Dodgers play vs. the Giants and the Padres, two ballparks that are the toughest to hit hrs in. Those two ballparks have the fewest hrs hit there since 2010.
  10. Wrong, Alvarez was. Because of Alvarez's age he fell under the international penalties. Olivera because of his age was not.
  11. Only because they won't trade Urias or Bellinger doesn't mean they have to trade Alvarez or even Buehler. Why would you trade a top pitching prospect/s for a luxury piece.
  12. I'm sure the Dodgers aren't trying to trade for Dozier because he could potentially hit 50hrs at DS.
  13. You know he needs to play half of his games at DS.
  14. You're right about Alvarez not helping them this year but not JDL.
  15. For a team that has refused to sign some free agents because they didn't want to forfeit their first round pick for one year? I doubt it.
  16. And you think Dozier can repeat those numbers at Dodger stadium? I hope the Dodger brass know he can't.
  17. based on what? oh yeah, your knowledgable bloggers from that "other" site. For a team that has been called "stingy" with their prospects and have preached player development since Kasten took over, why would they forfeit 2 years of signing prospects?
  18. Just as there's no such thing as a player being the "missing link" to a championship. We can also very much say that the multiple prospects that the Dodgers are giving up can also be the "missing links".
  19. How can they replace Alvarez if they cannot sign anyone for 2 years. Money has nothing to do with it. And, are you saying that Dozier is the "missing link" to a championship?
  20. However with Alvarez is more that just "stuff" and "potential." The Dodgers forfeited signing top international players for 2 years and forfeited the right to bid for Moncada to net Alvarez. I really doubt they trade him after just a little over a year after signing him.
  21. You're right, JDL, Alvarez, Stewart, and Seager for Dozier it's fair. This is also the best way for the Twins to get a couple of major league ready pitchers they can develop for the next 6 years. Dozier is probably gone in 2 years. If this trade is not made and a market for Dozier does not develop, the Twins would have missed a golden opportunity to start their rebuild.
  22. Yeah the first website is irrelevant. Here's what Olney said: The Dodgers began talking to the Twins about Dozier weeks ago, but it’s worth remembering that in Andrew Friedman's years running the baseball operations, he has demonstrated time and again that he is loath to give up his best prospects. In previous opportunities, he wouldn't do it for Cole Hamels, he wouldn't for David Price and he wouldn't for Chris Sale. And if L.A. has an alternative target, in the Detroit Tigers' Ian Kinsler, there is some leverage.
  23. And that the reason we all felt that JDL for Dozier is not fair. Also, you have to consider how much that WAR is costing a team. Since JDL is barely coming into the league 10 WAR on a minimum contract must be worth a lot.
  24. Since prospect development is not static as soon as top prospect list in published its really obsolete. Like someone mentioned MLB top prospects has not updated their list in a while, while FanGraphs just brought out theirs.
  25. I think by impartial bystanders he meant people that actually know how trades work.
