  1. Wacha more likely to have a shoulder/elbow injury than being a productive pitcher again. He sucks.
  2. There are no guarantees in baseball, unfortunately. It's very likely they don't win it with Dozier, just like there's a very good chance the Red Sox aren't winning with Sale.
  3. Just like Jon Lester was going to be the piece that put the A's over the top in '14 correct?
  4. Why does a Dodger prospect list from the McCourt era have any bearings on today? McCourt famously cut all international and amateur draft spending. There are different people running scouting and directing, such as the Twins newly appointed coach, Jeff Pickler.
  5. Yes, the Giants, who roughly had the same record post-June as the Twins in 2016.
  6. Dozier could be a late bloomer and this could be the start of his real prime, ala Jeff Kent/Daniel Murphy. He's not THAT old. And he seems to like Minnesota so he could be an extension candidate.
  7. You need pitching, badly, and you are trading from a position of strength. It's a challenge trade. Young player with promise for young player with promise.
  8. What about Jorge Polanco for De Leon?
  9. As a 20 year old (so age appropriate) who hits 100 + 2 plus off speed pitches, in his first year in the USA. He also was the #1 international prospect in the 2015-2016 signing period do there's pedigree. You guys need to put context when looking at a prospect stat line.
  10. The system literally just produced like a 7 1/2 win SS in Seager, a 3+win CFer going forward, and a 19/20 year old that had a k per 9 over 10 in the majors. And Alvarez has a ceiling just as high as Urias. It is fair for us to be protective of some of these prospects.
  11. And their offense, which is average at best. And back end of the rotation. And middle relief. And their lack of depth.
  12. This is probably the best up to date list: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/top-21-prospects-los-angeles-dodgers/
  13. Their search for a 2B is not limited to Dozier, Kinsler, Forsythe or even this offseason. They can go into he season with a platoon or young player at 2B and upgrade that position at the deadline, such as the Cubs getting Chapman or Royals acquiring Cueto/Zobrist. On the other hand, I think every in the game knows the Twins have been desperate for good young pitching for like a decade. I don't think either team has the leverage, but Dodgers can play the long game. I don't think the Twins can.
  14. Rosenthal writes a story about the Dodgers prospects and the Twins possibility overplaying their hand, while Heyman keeps trying to drug up fake interest from the Giants to get the Dodgers to pay up. We're at the point where both teams are using national writers to get the other side to budge.
  15. I think one of the front offices would've had this thread nuked, if they're really watching this thread like Dave said. One of the Dodger sites had an insider (later revealed to be the Diamondbacks traveling secretary) break news on their site, such as Greinke to the DBacks, exact details of Kenta Maeda's weird contract, etc.). Anyways, one of the Dodger officials found out and completely wiped him off the internet. I hope this doesn't happen to Dave if this deal goes down.
  16. Buehler is not a lottery ticket He is 1 of the 5 best prospects, was drafted as a college pitcher and has 1st round pedigree. He might have been in the majors right now if it wasn't for the injury setback.
  17. The team that holds the best player typically always has the advantage/leverage, though this is a weird case because the Dodgers are the only team showing serious interest on a good player.
  18. This is why I don't see him moving. There isn't much interest because most of the contending teams have a 2B. The is probably why the Dodgers haven't blown them away with an offer and why the Twins hold the ultimate trump card by simply holding on to him. Buyers are more desperate at the deadline.
  19. Long time lurker of this thread and a Dodger fan, I know this is late, but I don't see how Yadier Alvarez is involved. Freidman has been very protective of the elite high talent like Seager, Urias, Joc, and now Bellinger and Alvarez. I'm pretty sure the Twins can have whoever they want after those two (Walker Buehler might be the hold cause he's bordering on elite within the org.) I also could see one of the two sides walking away. The Twins don't have to trade Dozier and the projection systems already have the Dodgers as a mid 90s team, w/o a 2B. I mean, I know there isn't a deadline but how much can you talk without a deal getting done?
