The fact that a guy with a 4.8 K/9 was one of the Twins best minor league pitchers this year is maybe the most depressing Twins thing all season.

I think one reason for trading now rather than waiting after his start today is that if he has 11 or 12 starts from this point on, then they burn up about 10% of his value and would presumably get even less in return. And going by that logic, I don't know why they didn't make a push to trade him after his start against Baltimore. Everything about this trade sucks.

I mean this as no offense Seth, but what are your credentials for a 2-3 starter? I haven't seen anything out of Hendriks, both stats and stuff-wise, to think he's any more than a 4-5.

15 wins can really make teams go wild. He also threw 216 innings the previous year with COL, which is good, but had a 4.8 K/9 as well, which is baaaaaaaad.

I don't see there being any way for the Twins to rationalize giving Marquis another start.

You say you look at "walks and strikeouts in combination" (which is essentially k/bb) but numbers 1 and 2 on the list are the guys who have the worst k/bb of anyone on here. It's not that big a deal, its just that your rankings contradicted what you put in your criteria. You probably should've just said you're going to rank them by ERA and WHIP and left it at that.

I think the offense will be ok. But man, that rotation. Woof.
