  1. Twins made the right move in trading Gomez. We had more then enough CF and getting Hardy was a good move. Getting RID of Hardy is a completely different story though... With Gomez though even if he wasn't traded to the Brewers, he still wouldn't be with the Twins. His attitude is not a fit with us. As for four years from now, who will be better...Hicks or Gomez? My money is on Hicks.
  2. At least the game was on ESPN. Nice to have two national games already. I'm used to us not getting coverage on SC. It's annoying but I don't even think of it anymore. They think everyone cares about the Yankees when almost everyone hates them.
  3. Feels good to get that first win under our belt. Solid outing for the Twins. It wasn't perfect, but we all know this isn't a team that going to be perfect. Pavano was good, but not great. Worst inning for him was the 5th when Bourjos got the inside-the-park home run. Willingham couldn't make the play. His defense isn't the best, and Revere might have made that catch. If Willingham continues to crush the ball, missing a catch or two doesn't matter. Huge games for Carroll and Parmelee. I saw on Twitter last night that one of Carroll's kids was so upset that his dad didn't have a hit yet he was crying! I'm sure he's proud of his dad today. Also Twitter was questioning why Parmelee was still hitting in the 7th. I thought this was a good idea from Gardy. If Parmelee is going to be our 1B of the future, he's needs this type of at-bat. Did he ever come through. Biggest hit of his career, and first ever triple. Maybe Gardy knows what he's doing after all! Bullpen was fantasic. Perkins silder was looking really nasty. He made Pujols look silly. Capps was good as well. Yes he gave up a double, but the pitch was good and the ball just died in the outfield. Plus the Angels couldn't move Hunter over to third. And if it makes anyone feel better Nathan completely blew the save last night for the Rangers. 3 runs off 4 hits. Ouch. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. The game was back and forth and the Twins found a way to win. Biggest thing from last night is hitting was clutch. We need that to continue if we're going to win games.

  5. If Morneau can put up these numbers as DH, no one is going to complain. Plus it should give Parmelee a chance in the majors. A lineup with a productive Morneau and Parmelee starting to come around? Sounds good to me.
  6. Both links lead to the same set of pictures...nice seats for that Pirates game!
  7. Didn't the Twins want Ellsbury and Lester for Santana? Imagine if that would have happened...I would be happy with either player. Most recent trade that bugs me the most is JJ Hardy. We got nothing in return (Hoey is just...yeah.) All the talk about needing a stable SS and we had one. I'm happy he's tearing it up in Baltimore.
