  6. Due to the length of last night's game, I did not get home until past midnight and was unable to do the day-by-day, so here is the 2 day edition Hitter of the Day(s): Chris Parmelee - 1B - ROC - AAA (Last 2 Days): 5-7 2 HR (3), 2B (2), 7 RBI, 4 R, 2 BB Pitcher of the Day: Francisco Liriano: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 9 SO. After an underwhelming performance in the bullpen, Liriano shocks everyone and puts up a 2010-esque game with some dominant stuff. Was it a flash in the pan? Was it the poor Oakland hitting? Is he back? I will need 2-4 more performances similar to this to make the exclamation, but for tonight, it's fun to dream on. Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html The team sweeps Oakland at home, somehow still remains within 10.5 games of 1st place and now goes on to play a struggling Cleveland team, an improved Kansas City team. After the road trip the team comes home for the 2nd round of interleague play against Chicago, Philadelphia, Milwaukee. The next 15 games are against some struggling teams. I'm not here to declare the Twins can still compete for AL Central, but go 10-5 in these next 15 games, and you will have my attention. Regardless, fun to see the team play some good all around baseball and sweep a home series.

  12. A few hours later than normal, but here nonetheless... Hitter of the Day: Denard Span: 2-4 HR (1), 2B (13), 2 R, 1 RBI Pitcher of the Day: Andrew Albers - LHP - NBR - AA: 4 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO (Technically his start happened on Friday night, but wasn't official until the completion of the game on Saturday) Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html Being a Google Docs amateur, I just realized recently the link does not change. So for returning guests you can just "bookmark" the page (if you can do that with Google Docs) and look at it nightly. Again if ANYONE knows more about Google Docs (doesn't take much) and they know of a way to "subscribe" to it, that would be helpful. Still tweaking and refining, so if anyone has any other ideas/suggestions/concerns/complaints, please speak up.

  14. Hitter of the Day: Sean Burroughs - 3B - ROC - AAA: 2-5 2 2B (3), 4 RBI, 2 R Pitcher of the Day: Tim Shibuya - RHP - BEL - A: 5 IP, 6 H, 1 ER (3 R), 2 BB, 3 SO If you look at the above line and ask me why he was the pick of the night, my answer would simply be "because I needed to pick one". In a night where no pitcher, starter or reliever, had a good night, I went with Shibuya. He was roughed up last start, so to see him bounce back to a "respectable" outing, and to do it on a night where the Twins pitchers gave up a lot of runs earns you Pitcher of the Day! 16. I realized just now that last night's edition did NOT have the May 23rd game for the Twins. This cold is getting to me. Thankfully it's on its last days. Hitter of the Day: Justin Morneau: 3-5 2 HR (8), 2B (7), 3 RBI, 3 R Pitcher of the Day: Madison Boer - RHP - FTM - A+: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 ER (2 R), 0 BB, 3 SO I chose Boer not because he had the best line (though no one really took charge of that tonight), but after his struggles after his promotion from Beloit to Ft. Myers, he showed good signs. Without watching or listening to the game, and only relying on the stat line, I don't know the full details, but hist previous 4 starts in Ft. Myers he went a total of 14 2/3 IP, 38 H. 26 ER, 4 HR, 9 BB, 6 SO. So back to my point, even at 5 Innings Pitched he had by far his best day in the minors, and his 1st or 2nd best performance of his young professional career. It would be nice to string a couple of these together for the 2011 2nd round draftee, but for now with the lack of optimism across all levels, I will take a start like this! 18. Hitter of the Day: Wang-Wei Lin: 1-4 2B (10), 3 RBI Rough night offensively for the Twins organization as 4 levels (Rochester had day off) score 7 runs. Pitcher of the Day: David Bromberg: 6 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 8 SO. Despite not getting the win for New Britain today, Bromberg gave them a good shot at winning before the relievers and defense blew it. 20. Sorry, got wiped out by a nasty cold and slept all day yesterday. Here is the May 22nd version, I should hopefully have the May 23rd version done tonight after the Twins game. Hitter of the Day: Chris Herrmann: 4-4 2B (14), 2 RBI (Last 2 games went 8-9 2 2B, 3 R, 2 RBI) Pitcher of the Day: P.J. Walters: CG (9 IP), 5 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 SO Several great pitching outings in the organization last night, but P.J. Walters getting the first complete game in 2012 (who had him in the first complete game pool??) is huge giving the relievers 2 days off with the off day on Monday. Very quick game. May 22nd Recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html

  22. Sorry for no update yesterday, attached is the recap from today. No Hitter or Pitcher of the day, but Jeff Manship did go strong in what could be a tryout for the big team. Despite no game from the Twins today, the organization has a much better day, winning in all 4 levels today, all but 1 convincingly. Here's the recap: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AiRVhKu18uIhdDBSYUc5UGtSMkluOEFSWFdnTVdvQVE&output=html I was thinking of possibly adding an option to receive the day-by-days as a PDF in your email inbox on a nightly basis. Let me know if anyone is interested.
