  1. Like I posted earlier. Take a flier for Puig. We certainly made worse choices both in players and $$$$$. He's owed about 17.5M next two years. Have Dodgers pay 7.5-10M and offer them a "B" prospect. Either one that's good but no room on 40 man or one on 40 man that you can trade i.e. Grossman, Walker, Santana, or Vargas. We need to do something and I'm sure Puig has had his share of humble pie and ready to prove people wrong. Hell, he's two years removed from being the guy and still only 25 yo.
  2. He has about 17.5M the next two years according to BB Reference. The Twins have certainly used money foolishly and have done worse than to trade for Puig. Have the Dodgers pick up 7.5M and offer them a "B" prospect that's needs to be either added to 40 man or one that you're not going to maybe keep even though they're a decent prospect i.e. Walker. The Twins NEED to do something to boost up their fans and taking a risk on Puig I think it's worth it. He's only 25 yo and just two years removed from being the man. I'm sure he's a little humbled with his demotion.
  3. I understand the "business side" of things as far as the Super-2 status, service time, why call him up and lose that one year option of arbitration/FA. But there's also an appropiate "business side" to things that I think is just the right thing to do. The Twins (Pohlads/front office) have not provided a very good product on the field for the previous 4 years or so. Yet fans have gone to the games, extended their season tickets, etc and have little to show for it. I think the Twins OWE it to their fan base to call up Berrios because WE have supported them pretty well when the product on the field has not been up to par. IF we don't make the playoffs and DON'T call Berrios up, then why would season ticket holders want to renew their tickets? Why should we support them next year when they had to opportunity to add potentially the best pitcher they have to the mix and they didn't do it? It would show that they are not doing what it takes to win which in turn, I believe is sending the wrong message with a very negative impact to the entire organization and fanbase. Could be devastating. IF we call him up and don't make the playoffs, the Twins can say we did what we thought it would take to make the playoffs without trading our assets and look forward to next season with our young, talented club. Which in turn shows everybody, hey, were here to win but just missed. They'd have more respect from all parties and next year they'd once again fill the stands which would in turn make them more $$$$$ to pay for that "year of service" they lost. They owe it to the fans of the Minnesota Twins to do what it takes to make the playoffs and see where the chips fall at that time. I've been a life long fan and supported them through the bad times (much of these) and the good times. I myself would/will be extremely pissed if they didn't do anything possible to make a run at the playoffs excluding trading our assets. We are right there and potentially have the starting pitcher to take us over the top to get that last wild card and NOT trading anything awat.
  4. I think it's time to either pull the plug on Hicks as an OF and make him a pitcher or trade him to say like the Red Sox now for one of their "failed prospects". The Twins drafted Hicks as an everyday player but some in the organization thought he'd be a better pitcher out of HS. I think he was clocked in the upper 90's with a good CB. I think you could potentially get Middlebrooks, Betts, or Bradley Jr in a trade. Or find some other teams that has a prospect that hasn't panned out yet and see if a change of scenery would do everyone involved a bit of good. If we got say Middlebrooks, then trade Plouffe to the Giants now for a top 10 prospect. Let me know who agrees with this or know of different teams with prospects that haven't quite fulfilled their promise as Hicks.
