  1. Here we go again. Gardy likes the way he handles himself in the clubhouse and the fact that he's a proven winner--in 2008. Please someone tell Gardy and company that they need a player or two that can hit on the field and not just "character guys." Gardenhire just can't get over the guys he falls in love with, i.e. Nick Punto, etc.
  2. Please no more. You know that Gardenhire continues to look for clones of Nick Punto, and wouldn't trust a shortstop who hits for power. (See J.J. Hardy) If they bring another one in it will be one more projected #2 hitter who hits little but really hustles out there. Enough already.
  3. Way past time to give Slama another chance. Seems they don't like him for some reason. How about bringing both Slama and Manship back up, send Mastroianni back down, and move Duensing into the rotation. As it's been said above, this year is going to be all about experiments, especially with pitching. Might as well go back to 13 for awhile; it's hard to see why the Twins need Revere, Komatsu and Mostrianni on the bench.
  4. Curious why the preference for Swarzak over Duensing? I just hope they get Blackburn to the DL, move one of those two into the rotation and give Slama a chance in the bullpen.
  5. It is perplexing why this coaching staff can't seem to help players move forward. I heard or read Gardenhire say that it will be good for Parmelee to go back down to AAA and work with Brunansky to get his hitting stroke back. Huh? Don't the Twins have a hitting coach for that?
  6. One of many curious decisions. More and more it seems that players on the Twins major league roster have to fit into certain boxes for their position, and obviously Slama doesn't, no matter what his stats. Same reason Gardenhire will always prefer a shortstop who looks more like Nick Punto than J.J. Hardy. He doesn't know what to do with a player that doesn't fit "the Twins way." See also hard throwing pitcher. The list goes on....
  7. What do you think? Will the horrific series against the Angels prompt the TWins front office to make massive roster moves? Any roster moves? Or will they stand pat and tell us that they don't want to over-react? Hard to know what to hope for anymore. It's not just a manager problem, but it doesn't seem like there's any plan here. Plouffe's been all over the place, and that can't help his hitting. How do you keep sending Thomas up to the plate when he strikes out 75% of the time. As much as I can't stand to pay $60/seat to watch veteran minor leaguers fill the roster, it might be a good idea to let these young guys you list develop in Rochester, and leave the scraps at Target Field. Either way it's a 100 loss season.
  8. Second Bad News Bears movie was worse than bad news. Never cared much for For the Love of the Game (or something like that) either.
