  1. Not sure there is much difference between him and the relief they have now.. Ron Davis Stats, Height, Weight, Position, Rookie Status & More | Baseball-Reference.com
  2. I still remember Hamms and the bear ads......
  3. Was it over a six pack?...Do they even call them that nowadays? Still cant believe the cost of a beer at a game. A person could buy a keg in the old days for what a can costs at a game.
  4. Well....listen to his interview after the game....he should be a politician
  5. I had to look up that one. It was the last game of the season and all the other relief pitchers had been used for a double header, and Mel had driven to the park with his car full of cans of a product Milwaukee had become known for. Truth be told, he was pretty nervous before the game, because he knew he would be called on in the late innings. When he started to pitch in the 9th, he ended up loading the bases, and then walking in the winning run for the other team. As the players from the winning team went out to the parking lot outside the stadium after the game, congratulating themselves over beating the Brave's ace reliever, one of them noticed Mel's car practically buried in empty beer cans. One of them exclaimed, Hey! That must be the beer that made Mel Famey walk us! Upvote6Downvote11Go to commentsShare
  6. Maybe they should bring up a few of the Saints for the last road trip. They finish their schedule on Sunday.
  7. He is one of the minority players who sees the barber...maybe he should let his hair grow like Funderburk...Samson
  8. Brought back memories from my younger days when I crushed the Schiltz cans.. hey ...remember the hats..made out of beer cans The beer that made Milwaukee famous" "When you're out of Schlitz, you're out of beer" "Real Gusto!" "Just the kiss of the hops" "Move up to Schlitz" "The greatest name in beer" "Schlitz Rocks America" "Go for the Gusto" "When it's right, you know it" "There's just one word for beer, and you know it" "No One Does It Like the Bull" See also
  9. In the least...take the series....my favorite result would be sweeping those damn Yankees and downgrading their wild card standing.....I have seen too many ugly defeats in the playoffs with the Twins..
  10. Hey...it worked....they would not have been able to get Lee at third even if the pitcher had not missed the ball due to the angle
  11. No a bald guy....too many long haired guys on this team...makes me feel inferior
  12. I wonder how long it took for Funderbunk to grow that hair...man...he must use a good deal of conditioner
  13. Read the article about Perada and Gasper replacing Vasquez...I like what I have seen from Perada...wonder if they would consider him despite a lack of seasoning
  14. Man......I hate to see the relievers enter after this solid start
  15. At times, I think that Morny must drink several shots of expresso before he goes in the broadcast booth..
  16. I am going to get haters....but I have a challenging time following the Vikings after all these years. I don't necessarily hate them, but at least the Twinkies won two national championships. The Vikings are 0-4 in that adventure and continue to let me down from Tarkenton to Kramer to this current young kid....last night was no different. I will buy a inexpensive Twins ticket via seat geek ($7.00 last time) and move down but I am not buying a Vikings ticket which is too high (spent $60.00 last year for the least expensive nose bleed).
  17. Be nice to see Keaschall keep up a 300 average and Buck to obtain 30 stolen bases...but Buxton may be a tough goal due to a Rocco resting strategy...
  18. He is big and could get hit easily....
  19. Agree...his hitting...hustle...etc...has been superb...just needs the cues at 2nd....is that his prior position?
  20. I have been so very impressed with Keaschall. He has a bright future if he can replicate what he did the last couple of months.
  21. With ESPN taking over the broadcasts in 2026....be interesting to see if there are broadcaster changes
