  1. I will watch because I want to see the young players. I think Hicks can be a stud. Pinto looks promising. Arcia has some fire in him, to go along with a sweet stroke. I watched the game today and came away with a few observations. Willinghams poor spring performance is carrying over into the reg. season. He looks real tight, and not in a good way. Hicks looks to have confidence, and that means a lot. I wonder why everyone thought Sanos D at 3rd would hold him back. Have those same people seen Plouffe play D? In the first 2 innings he booted one and then just about overthrew Mauer a few plays later. If Joe was an inch shorter it would have been another E5.
  2. My head nearly exploded when I heard Bartlett made the team. What the heck are they thinking! They need to overhaul the roster with young players who want to win. Our lineup is slow, power and contact lacking, and void of any care about winning. I sure hope Hicks, Pinto, and Arcia have a good year or I can see myself stop watching games by June 1st when we are 15 games behind Detroit.
  3. Oh, it can be worse than last year. Hicks might not even make the club out of spring. I saw Presley in person two weeks ago in Ft. Meyers, he looks like a high schooler. Pinto might not make the club. Suzuki isn't a good hitter, and he doesn't get on base. Florimon is a terrible hitter and his "D" is overrated. Mauer is a great hitter but he doesn't drive in a lot of runs. Mainly because no one is on base when he is up, but even when they are, he hits into a ton of DP's. The front office should've went after Michael Young, Stephen Drew, and nelson Cruz. I know they aren't all stars, but at least decent hitters that want to win. And they all could've been had on the short and relative cheap. Nobody in this lineup scares pitchers.
  4. Not in the Twins clubhouse. We need youth. Youth equals excitement. This roster is stale! I wish I could be more positive, but hard to do. Im a realist. Half of our players wouldn't start for 97% of other clubs.
  5. I hate to say it fellas, cuz I love the Twins, but I see us losing a lot of games. Im guessing a lot of 5-1 or 6-2 games. We aren't going to score a lot of runs. Hurry up and heal Sano!
  6. Just release him. I don't want him taking minor league innings from our young pitchers who need them.
  7. Bartletts Batting avg. is .ooo, that's not acceptable.
  8. If Alex Presley is the opening day cf I wont watch. There is no upside. Hicks has way more upside. Hicks struggled last year but Presley isn't a solid hitter. And Hicks plays way better in cf. Can you guys believe Bartletts spring batting avg. is the same as mine? Its time to end the experiment.
  9. I went to 2 spring games and came away with a horrible taste in my mouth for a few players. 1. Bartlett needs to be cut. He looked awful. Danny Santana looked better. 2. Vance Worley can be cut also. He couldn't get anyone out. 3. Kubel isn't even close to the player he used to be, and he wasn't all that good before. On a positive note, I saw Dick Bremer in the parking lot getting out of his car and his tan looked great.
  10. Colabello raked all year in the minors too. lots of doubles, bombs, and RBI
