  1. This is really fun and funny, Cody! I especially "need" this as a Minnesotan who does NOT feel in very good shape emotionally, intellectually, governmentally, Bill of Rightsy, or Constitutionally right now. As a Twins Fan, I truly needed a perspective checker on not only baseball, but life. At least a break from murders... Thanks!!! Scott from Grand Marais
  2. For me this problem has three parts: *The Lack of the Dream Sale that so many of us were hoping for. *The Collapse Last Season *The Lack of Serious Upgrades to Our Team And of course...the very MN Twins that we have are off to a rather sad start. It's a long season and things can change. We all hope that they do. But my morale for this team IS indeed at an all-time low. Blaming and resenting and regretting is not very effective, but it is a feeling that I have inside. We blow leads, we hit sub .200, and we have people that keep getting injured. I know that professional sports are famous for injuries. But does it seem to others...Buxton, Correa, Lewis...that we have a problem with conditioning and keeping our athletes on the field at a higher percentage than other teams? Of course I trust our trainers, but seriously...gone are the days of Kirby Puckett and Kent Hrbek and their stamina and on-field time. And Kirby with all due respect, was not a lean machine in appearance, but still kept himself ready to go. I miss things like "durability, consistency, stamina, toughness, constancy." Hoping supreme, but extremely disappointed in these past several years.
  3. Bull. Bull what? About the Twins having the $$$ (I wasn't talking about that). Bull that Hrbek and Puckett once turned down those teams for less payroll with the Twins? They did. Bull that you're mad at the FO for not keeping him? I'd debate you on that, but I really think the 13 years was too much. SF can afford it. We can't. I'm hoping for Swanson. We'll see!
  4. As a long-time Twins Fan, I DO remember those last years of Joe Mauer's Contract. Though he was an amazing clubhouse guy, ambassador, class act MN Twin, there WERE times that many felt a bit "encumbered" by that contract. CC was such a spark this past year. But I'm with those of you saying that the 13 years at SF is too long a contract. I agree 100%. We are way past this in this era of Multi-Millionaire Athletes ~ but truth: Kirby Puckett & Kent Hrbek each turned DOWN higher contract offers to stay with the Twins. If I'm not mistaken, the Oakland A's and NY Yankees each tried to lure them away and they refused to leave. Unbelievable these days. I know, I know. This was NOT going to happen with Carlos. But I'm just saying...gone is the era of anything louder than $$$. So I'm not "buying" Correa's "LOVE" for the Twins. He still could have afforded that Dior Store Lifestyle here
  5. I completely agree. We have all watched this team build in the past year with a mix of young and seasoned veterans. Twins fans deserve Carlos Correa for all the reasons you list. If we are actually going to build for the future, why not with a veteran leader who loves it here, who has already proven his worth. Let's offer him full value, and show Twins fans that in addition to "risking" that contract for Byron Buxton, that we are building with this very sure bat, glove, and emotional Leader. Gone are the days of Puckett, Hrbek, Gaetti taking us forward with not only talent, but grit. Correa represents something that we are missing in most of the rest of the team: Post Season SUCCESS. It seems uncanny to me that this is a question mark. Let's pay him, move forward with a much improved team. My 2 cents. Scott in Northern MN
