This day in Twins history: June 9th 2022: Three Straight Home Runs to Open the Game During a matchup against the New York Yankees at Target Field, the Twins became the first team in franchise history to hit three consecutive home runs to start a game. Luis Arraez, Byron Buxton, and Carlos Correa took Yankee starter Gerrit Cole deep on three consecutive pitches. The Twins ultimately hit five home runs in that game alone. This would be a nice way to start the game, but not the result of that game, Twins lost to the Yanks, 10-7.
