It's been an enjoyable season (except for the KC series). Twins have a pretty rough run of it in May - this 10 game road trip is followed by home series against Balt, both Sox's and then another road trip to Atlanta, Det and Milwaukee. I'd be pretty happy if they're still around .500 at that point.

The Twins will find a way to win because they are a young hungry team. the Tigers, Angels not so much.

It'll be interesting to see what wins out: Does one of the worst rotation ERAs and a bottom half offense start dragging the record down or does continuing to win start to reflect in better team stats. Ultimately the bullpen is the difference maker so far, but those other elements have to get better.

 

It is nice having close games to watch though, much more exciting.

The Twins aren't really a different team than expected, they were just fortunate to win more in April than such a team would be expected to. That's good of course, and will make it much easier to finish with a win total in the mid-70s, but... it's a long season for a reason.

It's interesting to feel the vibe in TwinsTown these days.

 

On the one hand, there is relief that they're not the Houston Astros. But there still is the fear of impending doom, because we all know it can't last, right...?

 

They may indeed revert to the form of a 70-win team instead of a .500 ballclub, but then again why are so many so sure that it is inevitable? How far into the season do we have to be before we are willing to admit that this might be a decent (not good, not bad, but decent) year? I'm not sure myself.

After two terrible seasons, it's somewhat understandable to set low expectations and hope for a pleasant surprise. But I like your sentiment, let's see where the season takes us before declaring it over.
