twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Whatever else happens I love what Justin Morneau is doing with the bat right now!!!! oh Canada
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Well, Devries was doing ok till that inning, but the end result of his outing was pretty Marquis-esque.Agreed, an average start, but about the best we could hope for, and (believe it or not) it still lowered the Twins' starters ERA on the season. If he gets some better defense and a little more timely hitting, he might win a few games this year.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 I think Morneau catches Willingham in ave and OPS in a couple 2-4 weeks barring injury.

But it does feel like the Twins may have replaced one batting practice pitcher with another (although I do admit they didn't have too many other options). If they can get a couple quality starts out of him though, it'll be a significant upgrade.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 I should have said SLUG rather than OPS earlier about Morneau catching Willy. But since I'm looking at OPS right now, I didn't realize that Revere was out slugging Mauer by 31 points before today's game (.432 and .401 respectively, ouch)
Vegeta Provisional Member Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Good to see Morneau have a big game. Hopefully this helps build some confidence. There is alot of divisional play left for the Twins.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Gotta find a way to win when you put 8 on the board.
Top Gun Provisional Member Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Cole did a great job, but defense and bullpen both sucks. It should have been a easy win that went bad.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Duensing has to be absolutely beside himself to give up a GS to a hitter like D'Aza, what a way to piss away 8 good runs.
