  1. Hopeful moves, although maybe not all likely: Trade MiloneTrade Nolasco (likely eat half of his salary)Trade Plouffe Sign Jordan ZimmermanSign Denard Span (won't cost a draft pick) In return for trades get bullpen arms. Ideally at least 1 lefty and a hard throwing strikeout guy.Sano plays 3rd baseZimmerman becomes our #1 pitcherSign Span to a 1 or 2 year deal. This gives us a lefty batter who can be a leadoff hitter with a very good average and very good on-base.
  2. Aaron Hicks was a liability offensively versus right handed pitchers. The Yankees will use him as a platoon player for a while before deciding to play him full time. And acquiring a young catcher under team control for a long time is no easy feat. Especially one that will likely play significant time and is an upgrade over Suzuki. Does Hicks have great upside? Sure. But so do Kepler, Rosario, and Buxton.
