"He probably did the Twins a favor, robbing them of the temptation to try and squeeze one more year out of a popular yet declining veteran, at a point where he really isn't a logical fit." This was exactly my thought when I heard the news. More than likely, there will be OF/DH players that can be had in free agency for much better value and less money than resigning Hunter would have likely required. With that said, all the best to Torii.
