  1. Totally agree! Ultimately in the end the Angels most likely will end up with a better record than the Twins this year however with that being said the game is played on the field not in the front office. Even though talent is a large ingredient for success in the long run, there is also something to be said for good old fashion hard work. So far in this very young season last nights game was the Twins best game by far. What makes this game great to me is it will reward you for working hard and playing with a purpose. Twins might not have the best talent but they certainly have been showing up to play with great effort.
  2. Terry Ryan is elite at his job, he has eye for talent and knows the game of baseball better than most. The fact of the matter is Terry R. had to pick up the pieces to a puzzle that got tossed on the floor. While he was out I do recall there were a couple of major transactions that went down that could have really helped this organization if they were handled the right way (santana deal, and letting Torii walk without trying to move him). Fast forward to today I give Terry R. more credit for the deals or signings he did not make. When looking at this years free angecy market especially in regards to pitching other than maybe Zach G. most of what was available was way over priced, yuck in many cases. Everyone knows you win consistantly by buliding from within, bottom line. To spend money because you have it is the most ridiculous dumb business decision a manger can make in any business. We are all passionate fans I get that but lets show some patience people and enough with the knee jerk reacting. We have some really talented young players coming through the system lets give them a chance.
  3. My son has the #62 Ben Revere card that was signed by Ben at a Twins pro shop, do you know if there is any value?
  4. Without a doubt Mike Redmond.
  5. I consider myself a bit of a homer when it comes to the Twins. I feel that they figured something out long before any of the other sports organizations in this town did. In the instant media now society that we live in and the kind of money families have to spend the Twins have always had a good reputation of being a highly respectable organization that knows how to act in the community in which it is supported by. Like every sports organization on the planet they all have their ups and downs but that’s how business and life in general cycles. Minnesotans in my view point tend to be somewhat of fair weather sports fans, I myself am loyal. I still have pennant hanging in my office from my very first Twins game back in 1977. I will always have the Twins as #1 on my list through thick or thin and that’s ok with me. If you compare the Twins with all the negative drama and chaos that has been created by other sports organizations in this town who are competing for the same family dollar it is not even close. Yeah so the Twins are going to have a few not so great years but in my mind I know that the quality of the individual the Twins are going to have represent them and my community is always going to be worth my hard earned dollar. I have never once felt uncomfortable taking my family to a ball game because of the atmosphere the Twins have created. I have to think long and hard about some of the other sports venues. Also one other tidbit, even though it has been a long while they are still the only major sports franchise to have won any sort of major title in this town. Whatever happened to loyalty? Go Twins.
  6. Baseball is the one sport that is very hard to predict and pre-season picks are all based on whats on the paper.
  7. Brew crew or the pale hose
  8. Do you think with the spring that Dozier is having that it is possible he could be the starting shortstop come opening day? Otherwise I think the utility infielder that is not on this roster yet.
  9. I really liked what I saw of Maloney yesterday.
  10. Assuming Twins can find a consistant/serviceable catcher to replace Joe. I personally feel if Mauer was at 1st base on a regular basis he flirts with a .400 batting avg. easily. Then you make Morneau your regular DH and you see what kind of deal you can make (that might include Parmalee) for a starting pitcher.
  11. I would have traded Santana a season earlier than they did knowing he was not re-signing with the Twins. The Twins had zero leverage in trying to get quality in return because they waited to long.
  12. I have seen the Twins at Citi Field, Kaufmann Stadium, Target Field, the Dome and an assortment of various spring training fields around Florida.
