  1. I think the Pelfrey signing was a good one. He's now a year removed from TJ surgery. If he pitches like he did before the injury the Twins got him at a bargain and could potential trade him for a decent piece. If he struggles again then the Twins don't have that much invested in him. I personally think he's gonna flourish this year. As far as the 5th spot goes, I think its Diamond's to lose. The Twins want at least one lefty in the rotation so if all 3 pitch similarly I think Diamond gets the spot.
  2. If Sano makes the team Id rather put Ploufe in the OF and have Willingham and Kubel DH. I don't want to see Willingham anywhere near the outfield. He's mediocre at best out there, he's getting up there in age and is injury prone. I still wish they traded Willingham after his killer first season with the Twins. He put up career numbers and his value was never gonna be higher.
  3. I think it should be Hicks in CF, Presley in LF and Arcia in RF and use Willingham as a DH only. They need his bat more than his mediocre fielding. Or Hicks in CF, Arcia in LF and Colabello, Parmelee or Ramirez in RF
  4. I agree on Hicks. I really hope he's the starting LF or CF. I think the Twins should only use Willingham as a DH, cause they really need his bat and cant afford for him to get injured. Hicks in LF, Pressley in CF and Arcia in RF or Arcia in LF, Hicks in CF and Collabello/Parmelee in RF. I really hope Hicks works out because a future OF of Hicks, Buxton and Arcia sounds pretty appealing.
  5. Out of Bartlett, Guerrier and Kubel, Kubel is the only one I see making the roster. I hope the Twins have him and Willingham rotating at DH. Bartlett was out of baseball last year, and Guerrier is 36, coming off of an injury. If those two make the roster, then something went horribly wrong during spring training:-)
  6. Well if the Twins hope to have any excitement for the start of the season and hope to sell tickets, they better bring a few of those guys north with them. I think Hicks and Pinto are the most likely candidates to start out on the major league roster. Buxton, Sano, Meyer etc, have pretty much no shot at making the major league roster, no matter how they perform in spring training. The Twins are not gonna want to lose arbitration years on those guys. But Hicks and Pinto better start the season on the big club, or the Twins are going to have a tough time getting people excited for the season. Nobody I know is excited to see Pressley, Collabello etc.
  7. C. Pinto 1B. Mauer 2B. Dozier SS. Florimon 3B. Ploufe LF. Pressley CF. Hicks RF. Arcia DH. Willingham/Kubel Starters: Nolasco Hughs Pelfrey Diamond Correia Bullpen: Glen Perkins Jared Burton Brian Duensing Casey Fien Anthony Swarzak Caleb Thielbar Vance Worley I think Diamond ends up in the rotation, because they're gonna want to have at least one lefty. Worley goes to the pen because he's out of options, and Deduno will be on the DL. If Kubel struggles I could see Parmelee rotating with Willingham at DH instead. I could also see Colabello or Parmelee in RF instead of Pressley, and Pressley used as a utility OF. I dont see Mastroianni or Bartlett making the roster.
