  1. Wow...I can almost feel 2015 if I try really hard
  2. That would be a very well protected front 6....Arcia is going to be awesome in Minnesota. Just need the opportunity.
  3. How bout Mauer 3, Sano 4, Arcia 5
  4. Would love to see Butera teach Meyer and May in AAA next two years, and Berrios in three for that matter... Hermann should be ready to swap with Butera sometime this year.
  5. the best problem they'll have had in years
  6. Dang, thats a pretty projectable group. All in MN by 2015? Mauer hits 5 with these guys? or Arcia?
  7. holy moly. its that bad huh? Sano full yr in FSL too?
  8. We will see Berrios pitch for P.R. in the WBC!!!!!
  9. I vote let anyone play in the WBC that would like to. Most "star" players will count themselves out of things like this if there is any conceivable reason to do so. So I am not worried anyone will risk injury beyond the normal risks associated with playing the sport.
  10. Anyone think Harrison goes A to A+ while Sano goes A+ to AA next summer?
  11. Should this thread be categorized under: "Minors" or "On the Farm" ?
  12. I sincerely hope Sano AND Rosario get pushed up to AA by the end of 2013
  13. I see Berrios being somewhat like Linecum....in that he is not a large-bodied pitcher, but can still throw gas with movement. His off-speed stuff is nasty (like Lincecum), and all we need is a chance to see him in a legit minor league.
  14. Thank you everyone...Some very interesting perspectives above. I can see how Sano's larger body size means more HR's in most peoples minds. And it sure showed by Sano hitting all those HR's last season while Rosario hit a bunch of doubles. Rosario could have come close to 20 HR's last year and surely would have totaled over 40 doubles, IF he had not been struck in the face with a baseball. So, I guess we can expect Rosario to be a doubles hitter moving forward. How bout a 3-hole hitter in Minnesota? Or would Arcia fit better in the 3, and Rosario hit 2nd? Sano is the 4-batter, right?
  15. Ok, I will be the optimist. Rosario will hit .315 with 25 HR's and 89 RBI's in A+ and AA combined next year. Sano stays in Ft. Myers til 2014.
  16. Much less comfortable with Capps
  17. Yeah, I think we all agree a good #3 starter would be a miracle for the Twins rotation. Shoot, if Meyer, May, and Berrios can develop into good #2's, we got something tasty in that slow cooker. Might have to make a trip to Iowa this August, assuming Berrios will still be in low A.
  18. Imagine Buxton in Minnesota's CF as a 20-yr-old. Would not happen...but can you imagine the type of career numbers Buxton could amass with that many potential MLB seasons?
  19. Thats right, get out your crock pots. We are cooking up an ACE. Great info about Jose's progression!
  20. This is probably going to be the most accurate set of predictions on this thread.
  21. I love to imagine the possibilities too, but to predict our pitching is going to be good this next year?? That's beyond wishful thinking, and more closely resembles a failure in critical thinking. We don't have a single proven pitcher in our starting rotation. The two "top" arms (Worley and Diamond) have had two good seasons in the majors between them. Woof! Now, if you want to dream of "what could be"......take a look at our farm system. That is where wild projections can be made. Believing in Correia, Pelfrey, et al. is the same as believing in signings like Jason Marquis and Sidney Ponson. MLB vets are known quantities...minor league prospects are unknown in a sense. Correia is not project-able by any stretch of the imagination. We KNOW he was a sub-average spot starter in the NL....ugh
  22. Rosario can run, stirkes out less. Arcia is a slower runner, strikes out more. Power numbers are similar. On-base numbers are similar. Both went nuts at ELZ, both will probably be above-average major league hitters. But Rosario has more upside with his speed and contact.
  23. OK? Then what was demonstrated in Elizabethton in 2011?? Rosario hit more HR's than Sano, but Sano didn't get to play 30+ more games than Eddie in 2011.
  24. that's insane! A high school outfielder gets a major league contract?? Well, Delmon did produce in the minors, and he was probably as ready as he could have been at the time of his promotion. Delmon has regressed so much as an athlete. I really hope Sano can stay in shape and play defense. My gosh...look at what Delmon did in the South Atlantic League as an 18-yr-old!
