  1. Willingham and Parmlee in the same starting OF? They are not going to cover much ground. With the Twins pitching staff they might have to utilize the softball defense of 4 OFers anyway. Better have whoever plays CF wear track shoes.
  2. I like some/most of your comments. However, Florimon-Dozier up the middle will NOT be decent. I can't think of a worse middle infield combo in all of baseball. Those 2 might set a record for worst WAR in any one season if allowed to play all year.
  3. That is probably the right attitude to have going into this season. But it sure is fun to complain about the seemingly lack of improvement that the teams appears to have this off-season.
  4. Whoever the Twins plug in at these positions will be out-making-machines. Unfortunately I mean with the bat....not with the glove. Can we DH for either of these positions?
  5. I think everyone is coming to grips with the reality that the Twins won't be very good this year. The pitching rotation is well below average and the middle IF and CF positions are a mystery with no really good in-house options. Plus the Tigers were in the World Series last year and are probably a better team this coming summer. Add to that the improvements made by the Indians and Royals and I think we are unfortunately looking at close to or more than 100 losses again this summer.
  6. Obviously we all want the pitching staff upgraded. As the current roster looks the positions of CF-SS-2B look to be filled by guys who are pretty much automatic outs who don't do anything particularly well on offense or defense. Perhpas some consideration should be given to upgrading any of these positions? The Twins will be the exact opposite of the philosophy of "strong-up-the-middle".
  7. Might be time to "sell high" on Willingham as well. It is pretty obvious that we won't be seeing the Twins contend for at least a couple of years.
  8. It is hard to get excited about FA options like this. Considering what the other teams in the AL Central have already done to improve their squads, one can easily see the Twins with 90+ losses again in 2013.
