MichiganTwins Verified Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I believe Meyer is pitching for GCL today too.
Chance Provisional Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I believe Meyer is good to go. 3 innings so far 1 hit 7/0 K/BB.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Meyer 9 Ks in 3.2. Wtf, that's two guys that didn't strikeout. Come on, Alex.
TRex Provisional Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 r.e. Meyer... If I am reading between the lines correctly (i.e. 3 K's looking), it looks like he was throwing the breaking ball today too!
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 r.e. Meyer... If I am reading between the lines correctly (i.e. 3 K's looking), it looks like he was throwing the breaking ball today too! Yep. That gust we're all feeling is Twins fans everywhere breathing a collective sigh of relief. Hopefully today's effort means the clean bill of health that gets him back up to New Britain and full-tilt resumption of his fast track to the Twins starting rotation. Overlooked here is a good bounceback effort from Thorpe. Couldn't quite match Meyer, but I'll definitely take 0 hits and 6 Ks in 3.1 innings pitched. 2 much-needed bits of positive Twins news.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Meyer certainly looks the part of the real deal so far. Can't wait to get him up here.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Hendriks making his claim for Gibson's spot.
amjgt Verified Member Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 The SP on the 5 domestic teams today gave up one run in 30.2ip.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Liam is still 24. Younger than Gibson and only 7 months older than Trevor May. I think there is still hope. I'm still hopeful he can figure it out and become a solid part of the rotation. If Diamond and Pelfrey get to suck for half a season in the rotation, I'm not sure what is stopping them from allowing Hendriks to get an extended look.
