J-Dog Dungan Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Looks mostly what Opening Day Lineup should look like...
Neinstein Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I don't see Doyle making the team unless someone else gets hurt or completely falls apart.agreed. Today is the day that Doyle has to make good on his exit back to Minor League camp. It was great to see him battle with the rest. Overall a great ST for him if today goes well.
twinsfiend Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Marquis needs to pitch well today. He hasn't shown much so far.
Neinstein Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Marquis needs to pitch well today. He hasn't shown much so far.You gotta love these Dangle games toward the last roster cuts.Marquis won't have very many excuses today with this starting defense.I'm anxious to see how he performs against this Boston lineup. Could get interesting.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted March 19, 2012 Author Posted March 19, 2012 The difference is that Marquis isn't competing for a roster spot. He'll be starting for the Twins in the regular season, so his numbers aren't hugely important other than for his own goals, of course.

Looking back, I didn't mean for that post to seem so negative. You get 'em Jason! I hope.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 1-0 Twins on groundout by Willingham. Mauer had doubled Carroll to 3rd, and Morneau walked prior to the groundout.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 1-2-3 first for Marquis, flyout and 2 grounders. Doumit led off 2nd with a double.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 agreed. Today is the day that Doyle has to make good on his exit back to Minor League camp. .Actually if he exits, the Minor League Camp he will join will be in the Cactus League (White Sox)
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 1-0 after 1 1/2. Revere singled Doumit to 3rd, but apparently they had a hit/run going with 2 strikes on Casilla. He k'd and Revere was out on Batter Interference. Span flied out to end the inning.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Marquis' control issues haunt in 2nd HBP forceout walk RBI double walk forceout/rbi
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 3rd run scored on Pedroia single. 3-1.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Carroll 2-2, average skyrocketing up to .179

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 We really need him to get this under controlpun intended?
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 3-2 on 2 out rbi single by Willingham, after Mauer/Morneau did their jobs in advancing the runner on ground outs.
Gernzy Verified Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 pun intended?LOL I didn't even think of that when i typed it...nice
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Doumit throws out another runner. Pretty good for a below avg catcher.
Twins Fan From Afar Verified Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Apparently Valencia had a long single off the wall. His spring of hitting the ball hard, and far, continues.
TwinVike61 Provisional Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I know it's only Spring Training, but it seems our new innings eater (Marquis) needs to go on a diet...
JakeE141414 Verified Member Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Nice bases clearing double by Benson. That's a good sign for him.
