username Provisional Member Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 is it obvious that i shouldve taken today off from work?
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 I'm all ears! Hey Pseudo, any thoughts on the deal? I am getting other offers for Pineda.

kab21 Verified Member Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I just pulled off my 3rd big move in the last 6 months to complete the destruction of my farm system. I still have a few prospects but it's getting thin compared to usual.
username Provisional Member Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 I just pulled off my 3rd big move in the last 6 months to complete the destruction of my farm system. I still have a few prospects but it's getting thin compared to usual. i think all of those deals were good in a vacuum and excellent for someone in win-now mode. you didn't overpay or anything imo. hopefully one of us can win this year; has anyone been more unlucky in this league than the 2 of us? also, how do you view sale's value relative to CC? i would deal CC for sale + [one of maybe 6-7 guys on your roster]
kab21 Verified Member Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Sale > CC - even with injury concerns 23 > 32 I actually am happy with all of the deals also. I gave up some good prospects but I got back some well above average currently good players that aren't old. I remember the Votto trade from 3 yrs ago. I'm still waiting for JMontero and Drabek to become good players. Perhaps I traded away a stud but whatever. I've also moved enough guys that I won't have any tough cuts. I gotSaleWeeks - I never thought I would have owned himPabloHarvey I gave up 4 stud prospectsSanoSkaggsMyersBogaerts and some good but not great prospectsArcia - he could be better than all of the above thoughHerediaVenturaOdorAlonsoErlinhendricks
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Dave and I completed a trade tonight. I'm sure both of us have some bitter grapes about the players acquired and dealt. LincecumDoumit for Pineda Avila2014 1st round milb pick
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 It's risky for both of us. Could end up being a disaster for one us, who that is is up in the air at this point.
username Provisional Member Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 It's risky for both of us. Could end up being a disaster for one us, who that is is up in the air at this point. i think pineda is done. i like this deal for dave.
kab21 Verified Member Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I like the trade for Psuedo due to Avila and the #1 pick. However Lincecum could make this a huge win for Dave. After the Perkins trade I'm back to +1 MLB'ers. I'll probably shop Bass/TWood although each could be a solid starter.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Hmm. I'm thinking I'm going to go with Giolito despite the TJ surgery. Too much ceiling to pass up. I just hope the guy in front of me doesn't swoop in and take him.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 **** I'm thinking either Soler or Almora
kab21 Verified Member Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 I also took the riskier higher upside Cuban. All of my favorites disappeared and it came down to him and Seager.
username Provisional Member Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 Do you guys like wachha
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Dave, what will you give me for Berrios?
kab21 Verified Member Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Do you guys like wachha Yes... I had a list of guys that I thought might drop to me:Dahl - taken too earlyFriedRussellWachaSeager but I decided to take a chance on Puig
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I was really hoping Stroman would slip to my second round pick. Oh well.
username Provisional Member Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 I was really hoping Stroman would slip to my second round pick. Oh well. so was I haha really happy to land Clint Coulter there though. not sure where i'm gonna end up with my 34th pick but i'm very happy with the first 2 rounds either way.
username Provisional Member Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 I really like Puig and thought about taking him there too. It was really between Wacha, Puig and Seager for me and I think they all went consecutively..
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I took a bit of chance and went after another BJ pitcher in Smoral. He was hurt last year, but the guy is huge, so there's some projection to go along with his sleeperness. We'll see. I was looking to take the Reds first rounder Nick Travieso, but that pick seemed so boring.

username Provisional Member Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 went with shane watson. not crazy about him or the other options at this stage.
kab21 Verified Member Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 it's strange, I think I dislike every Cuban in the MLB but now I have 2.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Made a little trade today. Wade Davis for a 2nd round Milb pick. It might not work out, but with the roster crunch coming, I was probably going to drop him (or he'd be the last guy I kept). Maybe I could have gotten more, but I needed to clear some space and I didn't want to take any players back in return.
kab21 Verified Member Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I'm in the same position with Arrieta, Wood and Bass.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I'm in the same position with Arrieta, Wood and Bass.Get what you can. Milb picks are great sweetners in future trades, even if they don't end up turning into good players.
