I mean this with the utmost sincerity. I hope Plouffe gets a lot of defensive opportunities tonight and succeeds. Being a moveable piece in the infield is the sure fire way he can have value for this ball club in the future.

The bottom 4 guys in this lineup couldn't get jobs for most AAA teams. Carroll, at age 38, should'e retired last year and does not deserve more than 2 starts a week.

If Aybar could get his contract to reflect getting paid by the ground ball, he'd make more than Pujols this week.

Clete Thomas plays over and over, and Slama sits in the minors. Where is the justice in the world?

 

In the specific case of tonight, Gardy doesn't have a lot of options.

I understand Chief, but there is a serious problem with our roster management if we are in a position where a guy that strikes out 60% of the time is in the starting lineup. There is a reason that the Tiger's cut him. I was originally on board with the transaction. Give the guy a chance, but he had his chance and it didn't work. Time to cut ties and move in a new direction.

hahahahha, you can really only laugh at this point. That thread, where we were asked what would make us question our fandom, keeping Clete Thomas on the roster might be the last straw for me. I am not a Terry Ryan believer, and in year 1, he's confirming my worst fears.

Agreed, Clete is not a major league player and it is embarrassing that he is getting playing time...

Indians signs Damon, Doyers lookin at Abreu, Arizona Vladi, TB Matsui, ect. What are the Twins lookin at? Thomas puts ass on there seats.

I agree, I've wondered if 3B might be his best infield position. It's less complex than the middle infield, at least mentally.

Hendricks start tonight really is too bad. I had some hope that he might be a surprise performer and legitimately earn a spot in the rotation. Yeesh.
