In the midst of a playoff run, the Twins need that extra something to push them off the fence into contention. Right now, they could just as easily make the playoffs as they could miss them. The extra something we need is Jose Berrios. He has been flat out dominant in every level of the minors. He set a new career high in strikeouts his last start. With the roster expansion approaching, the first player we promote should be Berrios and place him right into the rotation. I was thinking ahead to if we make the WC game and I realized that I would not trust to put any of our current starters on the mound. So my plan is to give Berrios some starts in the majors so that he can become more comfortable and experienced so that he could possibly start the WC game (if we make it). The hitters would never have seen his stuff before and that would give him an advantage. If Terry Ryan is serious about making the playoffs, he will promote Berrios in a heartbeat. It is clear that he is not a AL pitcher. The sad thing is that he is almost worse than Ricky Nolasco. I would be willing to put him on waivers and pay off some of his contract if anyone would want to claim him and possibly get a shortstop. But knowing Terry Ryan that is not gonna happen.

Predicting Miguel Sanos rookie stats

I guess I don't care if Sano wins rookie of the year or not. He is helping this team a ton and is a big part on why we are still in the WC race. It would be awesome if he could though. -
If the season were to end today, Miguel Sanos rookie stats would be pretty impressive. But there are still games left to play. I think his final stats (triple crown categories) will look something like this BA: .285 RBI: 58 HR: 18 Possible ROY? What do you guys think his final stat line will look like

Terry Ryan ... is it time for him to step down? Is he to blame?

Before the trade deadline, I sat around and waited for something to happen. I sat around and watched as other teams went out and improved their areas of need. But Terry Ryan did next to nothing to improve this team and watched as the team crashed and burned. I am starting to wonder if he really wants whats right for this team. We needed to improve our bullpen drastically, add a shortstop or a catcher, and possible add a starter. But all he did was add ONE semi-decent reliever. He is so focused on keeping all of our prospects but is too blind to see that none of these players are ever gonna get chance to play because he is too busy signing terrible contracts. He could have improved this team and I blame him for this teams struggles. I think it is time for him to step down and hand his job over to someone who can do it right.
