The Dread Pirate's Achievements

  1. I thought it was strange that the 2012 Twins had the following players from the same hometown: Butera and Carroll Deduno and Florimon Casilla, Liriano, and Perdomo Burroughs and Revere I wonder if any other team has ever had at least a pair of teammates from four different cities.
  2. I'm just glad that you all enjoyed it. Also, I'm skeptical that Carlos Silva was born in the Bolivar in the middle of no where rather than Ciudad Bolivar (like several other Twins), but I was going off the Baseball-Reference information, so I'm not going to randomly decide on his place of birth.
  3. Your google map, thats great work!

  4. I was bored recently and decided to create a Google Map with the birthplace tabbed for every person who has ever played for the Twins. Apparently they don't scout the Rockies.
  5. This is nothing new. Look at this beauty of a boxscore from seven years ago when Gardy saved Joe Nathan for a save against the White Sox.
  6. Go back to the 11-man (or early in the season with extra off days and starters being skipped, a GASP!!! 10-man) pitching staff and stop trying to play matchups so often with the relievers. This gets an extra bench player (hopefully not a third catcher) to allow more late-game offensive machinations especially with all the moving parts (Mauer/Doumit/Morneau/Parmelee).
  7. Oh, one other thing. How in the world did Matt Tolbert's tailor-made game-ending double-play ball in the 10th inning elude Polanco? When it left the bat, the game was over yet Polanco somehow couldn't quite reach it.
  8. That was the first time I ever left the Metrodome needing a shower. What a game. An unmentioned but unforgettable moment was the crowd taunting Miguel Cabrera before he clobbered an absolute BOMB of Baker. Pretty good way to shut us up.
  9. Let's see... Current MLB Parks Camden Yards Rogers Centre Target Field Progressive Field US Cellular Kaufmann Stadium Safeco Field PNC Park Wrigley Field Busch Stadium "retired parks" Yankee Stadium HHH Metrodome RFK Stadium Spring Training Tinker Field Hammond Stadium Minor Leagues Zephyr Field (New Orleans) Rosenblatt Stadium (former Omaha) Prince George's Stadium (Bowie)
  10. Somehow I just don't see Chris Parmelee's .390 BABIP lasting longer than a month. The ONLY way Parmelee is better than Morneau is if Morneau's concussion problems won't go away.
  11. Good to see the myth of Torii the Great is alive and well long after he left the organization. How quickly we forget that Vavra had the offense clicking quite smoothly in 2010 despite playing in a pitcher's park. Your selective memory also managed to forget the post-Twin careers of other young players to leave the organization like Luis Rivas, Brian Buchanan, and Jacque Jones.
