Now that you mention it, the Twins aren't mentioned more than once or twice in Ken Burns Baseball, are they?

Well, there is no point, strictly from a player development angle. But, one might argue he has value as an extra coach, especially with so much flux in the coaching staff. Also, he makes it more fun to be at the game. When it's more fun to be at the game, more fans will show up. When more fans show up, the team has more dollars to reinvest in the team.. As for whether that outweighs the value of giving his at bats to a younger player, I can't say.

This was a very nice article, Horrorpants. I agree whole-heartedly; bring the big guy back!

I'd love to see the I Believe in R.D. shirt, but I came up empty on my Google search. Link?

I'd never heard this story. That's beyond hilarious.

best Twins read of the day

This was a very nice read, Seth, Thank you. I wish I could have met him too.

Love the photo of Gardy and Jerry. Look at those smiles! Must be from 2010..

This comment is aimed at the comment policy article, since its comments were disabled. John, I wholeheartedly support your words, "Overall, we don’t want any language that a parent would not want their kid to see." Towards that end, I was disappointed to see an ad for a tobacco product on this site.

I am a big fan of this writing style. It brings me back to the feeling reading the always-gripping recap of the last night's game in the paper as a kid. Please feel free to post as many of these as you like, Parker!

Huh, I'd never seen an editorial like the one that set you off that day, but then, I only read the sports section, if I read at all. Derp.

Hammers gonna ham

There was indeed a lot to like about tonight's game. I enjoyed the write-up, Parker.

I like it. Go Clete!

'Ham's jarring display of power has been a breath of fresh air. Keep 'em coming, 'Ham!
