Rising from the ashes
Of my clinical depression
I leave this Twins season
With the following impression

A team that early on
Was maddeningly erratic
Got their act together
And often left us ecstatic
We buried the playoff curse
Of Yankees as vipers
With a core of young players
Who back then were in diapers
We finally made sense
Of trading Arraez
Because Pablo became
An even bigger prize
Duran has become
Baseball’s best closer
Whose hundred mile fastballs
Make each batter a hoser
Julien as a leadoff
Has become a real factor
(But could someone get Buxton
A better chiropractor?)
Correa’s mega contract
We should no longer resent
He showed in the playoffs
He’s worth every cent
Coming up are great prospects:
Jenkins, Martin, Rodriguez
And Brooks Lee’s future impact
Will more than intrigue us
So deep in my sorrow
I have room to rejoice
Spring training’s around the corner
And, hey, we got Royce!
