Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 With three hours before the draft, it's time for predictions and projections... Here at Twins Daily, for the last 2-3 weeks, we have been bombarding folks with information on the draft. With all of the background and information, it's time for you to post a couple of things. 1.) If you were Deron Johnson, and you were ultimately in charge of the Twins draft, what would your draft board look like, 1-4? 2.) Since there is still so much speculation about what Houston will do and how the blocks will fall after that pick, get your prediction out there for who WILL BE drafted 1-4. Here are mine: 1.) My board would be: 1.) Mark Appel, 2.) Kohl Stewart, 3.) Jonathan Gray, 4.) Kris Bryant. 2.) My prediction for what will happen: 1.) Mark Appel, 2.) Jonathan Gray, 3.) Kris Bryant, 4.) Kohl Stewart Get your picks in before the draft starts, and then we'll take a look at it later!

heatbeat Verified Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 For the Twins, I am guessing they go with Gray at 4, then either Tom Windle or Alex Balog at 43
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 My board is 1) Gray, 2) Appel, 3) Bryant, 4) Stewart I now think it plays out, 1) Bryant, 2) Gray, 3) Stewart, 4) Appel. I just can't figure why the Rockies are so tied to bats when they are likely the most pitching needy team in the league and stud pitchers are available. If it's signability related, Stewart is probably the guy.
Rick Niedermann Provisional Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 If Deron: 1.) Appel 2.) Gray 3.) Bryant 4.) Stewart. How it plays out: 1.) Gray 2.) Appel 3.) Bryant 4.) Stewart
drjim Provisional Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 If Deron: 1.) Appel 2.) Gray 3.) Bryant 4.) Stewart. How it plays out: 1.) Gray 2.) Appel 3.) Bryant 4.) Stewart I second this.
John Bonnes Site Manager Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Mine (for the Twins): 1) Appel, 2) Gray, 3) Bryant, 4) Stewart. If I was a team that didn't need pitching so desperately, I might go Bryant at the top. Prediction: curveballs. 1) Moran, 2) Gray, 3) Smith, 4) Stewart which would follow by me becoming 1) disappointed 2) very sad 3) angry and 4) spiteful.

ALessKosherScott Provisional Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 1a) Bryant1b) Gray3) Appel4) ??? Bryant seems the safest pick. Gray has the biggest upside. Appel should be solid. Stewart is the pick that scares the living bejeezus out of me. Especially for a $5 million price tag. I'd probably grab Shipley or Ball and try to grab someone spendy in the second.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I'll keep my board the same as it was 24 hours ago: Appel, Stewart, Gray, Bryant. If Bryant is top on the board, I think McGuire re-enters discussion.

diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Manea won't fall that far I suspect a team like the Yankees might try to take him with a sandwich pick and possibly grab a safe college guy that will go under slot to pay him, but I suspect Manaea is going to fall, and could very well fall out of the first. There's quite a bit of talk about that.
