Death Rattle Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 This is a joke right? Arcia, a young rookie who's impressed in his SSS is once again on the bench for the 4th game in a row.
drjim Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 This is a little strange. If it means giving Parmelee one last extended look I can live with it, but Arcia should be playing every day somewhere.
mcrow Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I think it's a combo of needing to see what they have in Parmelee and Arcia having a couple games in a row with some pretty bad ABs. I think they have a couple of guys in the minors that deserve a shot in the majors if Parmelee can't hack it, so I think that is the primary motivation. Not sure if they are thinking of bring Buxton up or Colabello or maybe Thomas. They could play Colabello at 1st if his defense is OK and maybe put Morneau at DH. Buxton probably isn't ready for another year anyway. Thomas seems most like to get the call...I think.
ThePuck Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I think it's a combo of needing to see what they have in Parmelee and Arcia having a couple games in a row with some pretty bad ABs. Except it's Doumit in RF...not Parmelee or even the newest guy in town Colabello
mcrow Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Except it's Doumit in RF...not Parmelee or even the newest guy in town Colabello Yeah, that's the confusing part. Doumit isn't really doing much either.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Yeah, that's the confusing part. Doumit isn't really doing much either. Gardy needs a win, tonight is probably their best shot of the 4 in this series. He's going with what he considers his "A" lineup for doing as such. Dioumit .1055 OPS versus Porcello.
mcrow Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 1. Jamey Carroll, 3B2. Joe Mauer, C3. Josh Willingham, LF4. Justin Morneau, DH5. Ryan Doumit, RF6. Chris Parmelee, 1B7. Brian Dozier, 2B8. Aaron Hicks, CF9. Pedro Florimon, SS For tonight per LaVelle.

Tonight looks like the Twins best shot this series, unless Deduno is taking his magic pills on Friday.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 How many PAs? At least Gardy has more evidence for this move than he has for "Deduno gives the Tigers fits".
ThePuck Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 At least Gardy has more evidence for this move than he has for "Deduno gives the Tigers fits". My comment wasn't a shot...just wanted to know
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 From LEN3s report. The manager was pretty blunt before the game.``Egos are going to have to stay on the bench,'' he said. ``We need to win a ballgame.''Let's hope he's not talking about Arcia.
Anorthagen Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Arica is way better the pn Ryan Doumit will ever be. No question.
ThePuck Provisional Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 It's ironic Gardy would mention egos...
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 From LEN3s report. Let's hope he's not talking about Arcia. It's pretty easy to do the math. And to know that Gardy always throws the rookies under the bus.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 And to know that Gardy always throws the rookies under the bus.Yeah, none of his current favorites have ever been rookies.
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Yeah, none of his current favorites have ever been rookies. Where is that Picard facepalm jpg when ya need it.....
Alex Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Unreal. The team's second best hitter on the bench the day after he hits a pinch hit HR. Gardy needs to go if this is for real.

Alex Verified Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Where does the quote from LEN3 come from?
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I for one am just aghast that people would bring up Gardy's established record with young players in a thread about a promising young player on the bench again in favor of a man that could make a one-legged dude with vertigo look like a gold glover in RF. It calls for nothing less than an irrelevant rejoinder. What? That already happened. Oh....
