Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Are they going back to using Mason Melotakis out of the 'pen? Or is the plan to let him start some games this year too? It's a good question. He's made two starts and two relief appearances this year (since a relief appearance in his first outing of the year due to being a late starter in a 6-man rotation). The last two have been bullpen. I suspect he'll make some more starts. I think he could/will be a dominant reliever soon.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 I'd move him to the bullpen full time, it is really his best shot to be a MLB player. But the team is slow to do that, in hopes that somehow these guys would become starters, when it is pretty clear they are not.

Paul Pleiss Verified Member Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Cody Christie once admitted to drinking Coors Light, on purpose. I suspect he was drinking them last night when he gave the pitcher of the day to someone not named Yohan Pino. Seven scoreless innings is great for Vasquez, for anyone really, but a pitcher who strikes out 9 in 4 innings of work? I'll take that!
