  1. The biggest concern I have with blogging comes in the way bloggers and posters like us police ourselves. The people who do most of the writing for this site I'm sure have standards and integrity...no one really wants to look dumb. If indeed factual information is posted by a writer on this site, I would like to believe they have checked those facts to the best of their ability. If opinion is offered, I would like to believe that those who read it and respond to it do so with decorum and in a responsible way. As for the regular press and media, it's a new age, and the sense of ownership and distribution of the information they feel privileged to seems threatened. I get that. There is room for all of us to write and enjoy the inner journalist within ourselves.
  2. Revere is certainly exciting to watch cover ground in the outfield, but if all he really does well is run and catch, he may not have the kind of versatility the Twins need from practically every player they bring north. It both fascinates and frustrates me that my favorite baseball team leans on the versatility card. I'd love to see them have the sort of lineup they could trot out everyday (with mix and match as needed), but injuries and payroll concerns create that need. Alot of these guys like Hughes, Plouffe and Parmalee are still unproven with small sample sizes to show they really belong. Revere should probably be here, though, until guys like Joe Benson and Aaron Hicks are ready to make the jump. Late inning defense and pinch runner and hopefully good enough with the bat to lay down a sac bunt every now and then would be how I would use him, with a spot start on occasion.
  3. Too bad there aren't a crap-load of Pedroias and Canos out there. Second base has been another one of those places the Twins have fallen down on since the days of Chuck Knaublach. Just a continual parade of one utility man after another. As much as I appreciate the Twins for liking versatility in their players, sometimes having fixtures in certain places would be refreshing. The middle infield in particular. Kind of tired of the revolving door at two critical spots on the field.
  4. I just like being able to read the various opinions and form my own conclusions based on them. I get really tired of the venomous tone that some people take when they hide behind a keyboard and a computer screen. I appreciate a site like this where there is more of a community feel to things. If we're here reading stuff, we all share the common bond of being Twins fans. Some of us have been die-hards since the Calvin Griffith days. Things have been worse in Twins Territory, let's not forget!
