Pitz Verified Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Nice night for Kepler and Sleger. That Buxton kid is pretty good too. I was thinking the same thing about Buxton. His season stat line across CR and FtM:.329/.412/.51912 HR, 18 2B, 15 3B, and 49! SB Not too shabby
Ncgo4 Verified Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Buxton is beginning to put up insane numbers. In so doing he is taking on an identity that may serve him well in the majors. He seems to be letting any pursuit of power take care of itself. Instead he is hitting singles, stealing bases and scoring runs...lots of runs and lots of steals. In the last 10 games he's hitting we'll over 400 and his OBP is nearly 50%. Those are really crazy and if they continue....???
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 We hear about 5 tool prospects all the time. Most of the time, at this young age, 1, 2 or more of those tools are just "projectable". To have a guy in our system, a once in a generation prospect, who actually has all 5 tools, RIGHT NOW, is incredible. Obviously no guarantee he makes it, but at this point (especially if all the reports about his makeup are true), I'd be shocked if he's not basically a sure thing. Just amazing.
