twinstalker Verified Member Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I keep forgetting that Wimmers could have a future with the Twins. This gives us one more top prospect to follow. "Top" in the Adam Brett Walker sense, not in the Alex Meyer or Oswaldo Arcia sense.
BaseballDad Verified Member Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Don't lose sight of the great performance by Tim Atherton for the Kernals. He stood out from other relievers in the Kernals bullpen during my weekend in CR in June. In one inning, he walked the bases loaded, but also struck out the side. He can really bring it with heat and filthy movement. Perhaps the move to the starting rotation is helping him pitch more within himself and not try to do 'too much' in a relief role. Keep an eye on Atherton as an emerging prospect.

He's got so much talent and immense power. And, I saw video of Grimes inside-the-park homer, and he can move! He's a very good athlete.
J-Dog Dungan Provisional Member Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I really hope Wimmers can come back and re-establish himself as a high-end prospect. We could use all the help we can get when it comes to pitching.
