I don’t blame them for wanting to see him adjust to AAA but as as of this week, I don’t see many valid excuses. And while I think he could certainly be a decent MLB player I’m not sure he’s one that you worry about breaking the bank and  service time so much.

Wallner still has some holes in his swing but considering the guys who have filled the DH and RF positions, it is befuddling why the Twins haven't let Wallner get some starts while Buxton and Kepler heal. I'm not thinking that Wallner is entirely ready for MLB yet, however, how are the Twins getting help from the Hamiltons and Palacios much less Cave and Garlick. Atlanta and Cleveland have gone with some fresh faces when injuries opened a spot. The Twins should have followed suit.

Sorry but so don’t think he gets through Aa and AAA and gets enough bats not to qualify in 2023.

Who cares about being screwed in 1 game by a bad call when poor hitting with men on base has screwed you in many, many games. 11 hits and 2 runs…that’s the problem here.

I don't understand people bemoaning what we gave up in this trade. In general the front office is attacked by the fan base for not being aggressive enough but when they make an aggressive necessary move people freak out about who we gave up.
In general our major league lineup is quite young and quite good. We don't have a pressing need for bats. Our rotation is a different story.. I love both trades today despite what we gave up.

I think some of you value "our" prospects too much. Great get by the FO! Love to see that they're going for it.

I have supported this front office and I’m certain I haven’t blasted them here, but that changes now…
Josh Winder is not a bullpen pitcher, having Chris Archer (some may substitute Dylan Bundy) start over him is ridiculous. And now, sending Royce Lewis to AAA (while having stubbornly continued to bat him at the bottom of the lineup) is ridiculous. These 2 young guys are clearly a part of the future and clear upgrades over whomever they would displace. I refuse to believe that a guy who is as determined and focused as Lewis is going to be ruined by playing him out of position, off SS, this year. I call BS. I have to think this is not sitting well with the best players in the clubhouse either, or his agent. Worst move(s) of the year right here. This is a shame on the FO and manager.

Kyle Garlick. As I mentioned and you again ignored.
But why wouldn't a pitcher be an option? With Bundy back they appear to be putting Winder back in the long relief role. Ober is coming back before Larnach. So they'll have plenty of pitchers. Why wouldn't that be an option?
And, yes, I'm focused on keeping the best players in the majors. Why would anything else be the focus?

So Arraez, Gordon and Sano can learn new positions while at the MLB level, but the exponentially more athletic and talented Lewis can't.
Also, they signed Correa months ago, why wasn't Lewis given AAA reps at other positions prior to his original call up?

The standards for criminal prosecution and MLB/Union language are very different, and the fact he wasn't charged isn't really relevant.

Or it could mean that they wanted to trade Rogers because he was in the last year of his contract and they probably were not going to resign him.
And that they felt that Garver was going to have to get moved from catcher to stay healthy.
And they were able to get pieces in return that they liked.

I think I might love this trade.
The loss of Rogers really hurts. BUT I love the swagger and pitches of Paddack. I wouldn’t be surprised if the thought process is to use a Paddack or a Ryan or Winder in the BP late in the season if the games matter. Pagan…the way relievers can go from stud to bust and vice versa, he may be better than many expect. Do the Twins think they’ve figured out something on home run suppression? Between Bundy and Pagan and others, I hope so!

This looks to be a classic case of taking an opportunity to buy low.  It takes risk to see reward, and the Twins need to win some of these to make up ground on the free-spending big guns.
It's a great trade looking through the long term lens.
I wish Rogers the best in San Diego.  He was a great player for the Twins, but the page has turned.  He'll get to play against his brother more often, so that should be a bonus for him.
