I don't understand the point of having a Hall of Fame at all if you're contorting yourself into reasons to keep Ortiz out.
Seriously, just say you don't like Halls of Fame.  I'd probably agree.  But if such a thing exists....Ortiz should be automatic.  I don't care if he's been a DH since he was a baby or was allergic fielding.  He's a HOFer.

The views of the Iowa countryside as the sun went down were as gorgeous and serene a backdrop as I've seen to an MLB game. Kudos to MLB for starting the game at 6 pm to make the most of the "golden time" lighting. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, either.

What a fun game... love it! Glad they'll be doing it next year and hopefully annually after that! The beginning was amazing though!!

I don't like the AL teams being penalized for playing in NL parks. It's sort of like having to slow down to drive through Iowa.

With the increase in pitcher velocity and movement in recent years, the gap between pitchers hitting and position players hitting has gone from "terrible" to "ghastly".
The game is better if pitchers do not attempt to hit.
In 2021, here is the triple slash for pitchers:
    .105 / .144 / .134
Pitcher OPS is 30 points lower than Luis Arraez's batting average.
Who actually likes that garbage? I don't get it. There's nothing fun about watching "hitters" who make an out 86% of the time. Isn't modern baseball bad enough as it is without having to suffer through that experience multiple times a game?

Yeah but it's SOOOOO amazing to watch teams bunt!  In the same situation.  All the time.  So that the awful guy doesn't hit.  And starts the reliever train early.  And all the other marvelous "strategies" we hear so often about.
I would dare anyone to tell me what great "strategy" it would be every four minutes in a hockey that everyone played without sticks for a minute.  Or your QB had to throw left-handed every four drives.  Or NBA players shoot with their eyes closed.  Yeah, that ain't strategy.

I like what both prospects have been doing but the player the Twins left unprotected Baddoo is doing better than both of them right now.  Imagine if they would have protected him and with what Miranda is doing they could have been in even better shape.

My sample size of friends who I talk baseball with has been reduced to 3. Besides my friends on this website… One is an Astros fan, one is a Dodgers fan, and the last is a Cubs fan. The majority response is 3 true outcomes sucks to watch.
They continue to hide access to their games behind a paywall. I rarely hear about a game available on over-the-air channels.
We have hesitancy to move the game forward and bicker about “old school” vs “new school”
My friends who are casual Twins fans checked out in early May. They got their fire Rocco, fire Sano, fire everyone takes out of the way and moved on to other things.

Too slow, too many strikeouts, not enough action. I think MLB is trying to tweak things, but they really haven't come away with changes that a) speed up the game b) allow fans to see more outstanding plays and base running and c) encourage the younger generations to follow the sport.
A work stoppage might greatly wound my favorite professional sport and it seems likely that it will happen. I am not optimistic about the game's immediate future.

Baseball is in trouble, period. It needs an overhaul immediately. I’m a hardcore fan, obviously, and I’ve watched less baseball this season than I have in years. I still catch most Twins games but don’t watch other teams as often as I normally do. Almost everyone I know has a decreased interest in the game in recent seasons.
