Getting rid of Happ = Win.  The rest is just details.

120 wins or more? How often has that ever happened in MLB history? I don't know how anyone can complain about 101 wins.

I would cautiously add Rooker to that list as a promise to come. He is hitting well at this point. If he can keep the K's down, he would be a valuable DH/OF.

LOL I have this thought each time I see a game is about to start. "Oh no, not again."

Its one thing to have production drop off from starter to replacement, but the sloppiness is quite another.  Sure, they have lost games because they simply don't have talent that the other team does.  But more often then not, they're losing because the beat themselves by errors or otherwise sloppy play.  Little things in close games get amplified and result in losses, sometimes in blowout style.  That's not due to injury.  The injuries only explain a small portion of what this season has become.
I don't mind losing, sometimes the opponent is just better.  But it drives me nuts when a team beats itself.  Even more so when its done as often as this team does it.

Part of the blame for some of Rogers' struggles goes to when he is being used. He is not as durable as some pitchers who can come in basically every day if needed. If he is tired he is going to get lit up. I think Duffy is similar in this respect. They both perform at high levels when rested. To me, despite the walks, Robles has been the more durable. He is the typical reliever that gets himself into trouble but manages to wriggle out of it more often than not (he cannot control the defensive miscues that have occurred when he has been on the mound). In this way, he reminds me of Chapman, a hard thrower who almost always walks someone it seems, but which rarely hurts him.

To be honest, I expected more out of Happ than we got. I wasn't confident about Shoemaker...I always thought number five should be Dobnak. Alas, hindsight is for underperforming teams. I have appreciated the Twins play in the final two games of the series. We had hit rock-bottom in the previous two games. (I couldn't imagine two worse back-to-back games than those two. In the first, the Royals were begging us to win but we refused and the second was just a bloodbath.)

It would be nice to try to get back to .500. I think it is possible, but they have to take some games from good teams.

Do they believe in themselves? That is the question that remains to be seen, I guess.

Velocity and xBA are great measures of a "quality at bat." If you hit the ball 95+ mph, that's a good AB. If it happens to be right at a fielder, well, you can't control that.

Everyone wants results, but a hitter can't completely control that. All he can do is try to get a good pitch, try to barrel up the ball and hit it hard... exit velocity is just a measurement for 'hit the ball hard."  Nothing more. Fans want results.  Players can't control the results so they focus on their process and putting together a quality at bat and hope the results follow.

No Twins SP have been announced beyond the Yankees series. After their public comments about Shoemaker, and their caution with both Ober and Pineda this past weekend, I would be surprised if they didn't start Shoemaker on Friday.

Quite the pitching matchups against the NYY.  I don't know who TBD is, but I'm fairly confident that he'll outperform Happ.
I'm not looking forward to this week of Twins baseball.

I think Tampa's situation is such that they have too many guys for their positions already, and they love having flexibility.  Yes, they looked at Cruz prior to 2019, but three seasons of roster make-up has occurred since.  Would he improve their DH numbers?  Yes.  Would he improve their team?  That's not as certain.
I would think a more traditional team would look at Cruz, maybe the Red Sox, who could move JDM to right, or the Yankees, who will have enough injuries to justify it.  But it is a tough sell, unfortunately.

Logical fit and honestly the Twins can and SHOULD include cash given TB's payroll constraints. TB has so many legit prospects they have trouble keeping them all on their 40man roster! Getting 1 or 2 guys with some high upside or low level top 100 guy like Shane Baz for Cruz should be doable.

I have to agree.  Use that spot to take a look at Ober / Jax.  Happ and Pineda hopefully pitch really well and get traded for something of value between now and the deadline opening two more spots.  Watching the pitching prospects will be a reason  to tune-in to the games.  Maybe they can give us hope for the future.
