Bartolo looks very much like he actually cares now. His body language (and there is a lot of source material) just made him seem very indifferent. Winning and self confidence will do that, I guess.

I bet Santana gets moved but for a return most folks here are underwhelmed by. The front office surely sees his peripheral stats indicate he's much closer to being a liability than he is a front of the rotation guy. If he pitches to his stats the 2nd half, this is likely the last chance to deal him.

Man I hope Park can stay hot. He would be a good fit in September.. although he's not on the 40 man anymore.

My guiding principle is that You should get pitchers to the majors as soon as feasible. Arms only have so many pitches in them, and nobody knows what that number is. So I say go ahead and populate the rotation with prospects. They can't be significantly worse than Santiago. 

Think about it:
 
You got three top pitchers at the top of the draft.
 
Odds are, one will end up being an Ace or near Ace.
 
One will be a decent starting pitcher for a number of years, maybe a 3 or 4.
 
The other one will be a bust, or at least significantly underperform.
 
Do you want to put all your eggs into sorting out which is which?
 
Or, do you take the TOP position player, with speed, and use the savings to draft two top prep hurlers who may be the equal or better as anything available in this draft/
 
Twins done well in my estimate.

To insinuate that the twins were simply being cheap versus trying to execute a specific plan is a little disingenuous I believe.  Not that they have never been (probably rightly) accused of being cheap in the past.  I just don't think this is an obvious example of it.  
 
So it appears they left a total of about 766,000 on the table (assuming no one was signed at the deadline).  I don't doubt for a second they were trying to spend some of that to try to sign some more lower round picks.

IT blows me away that draftees are already in the system. Such a quick turnaround, sometimes from high school to pro baseball.
